  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.[nkjv]
As we approach the new year, it means a lot of different things to different people. To some it has already brought grief and sadness because of death, sickness, or trouble. But, on the bright side, to some it has opened the door of happiness in marriage, family, jobs, and new beginnings. As we look ahead into another year, we need to prepare, as best we can, for journey ahead.
We must prepare for the unknown. Our walk as Christians is a walk of faith. We have no way of knowing what each day will bring. As individuals, we could have a year filled with peace, prosperity,, and happiness. On the other hand it could bring us total loss of health, of property, of friends, and loved ones. The Lord has told us what to do about the unknown future. In Hebrews 10:38, It says,"We are to live in faith, trust in Jesus, and believe that he is able to keep us.
As we enter the new year we must be prepared for the unexpected. Life is full of surprises, some good and some bad. We may face unexpected sickness, trouble, or disappointments. Do we have to wait and look with horror and fear? No, we are to walk close to God as he will lead us step by step through his blessed Holy Word and Holy Spirit. [Romans 8:28] And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. This will prepare our mind and emotions to receive, at God's hand, whatever may come.
Let us prepare to take care of the things that are undone.
As we look back on the past year. I am sure there is much left undone, especially in our praying, Bible study, witnessing, and worshiping. Most that was left undone can never be recaptured . It is lost and gone forever. Lets look at that which is still undone and lay our hearts and hands to the task of getting it done.
Let us help make the coming year better for everyone. Then we can say with Paul," I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." [2 Timothy 4:7]
