What are your small comforts?

The things that make you feel better when your sad, sick, lonely...etc.

A few of mine...
my pillow and my dogs ears (I dont know why, but I could run her soft fur through my fingers all day)

One of them used to be my cats but I don't have them anymore .

Others include:

- going for walks.
- talking to my best friend on the phone.
- Reading the Bible or any other book.
- writing.
- cooking.
- cleaning.
- pjs

My cat.

Familiar books and movies.

When I'm sick, I love a cozy blanket wrapped around me and some hot soup or other comfort food, like mashed potatoes and gravy.

A really hot shower. Mmmm. Of course music is a must. A favorite TV show/movie, or a good book are wonderful. My mom cooking my favorite dish/getting me my favorite drink. A letter from a friend, or a hug from one of my little brothers. Writing, graphic designing, or some form of artistic expression. Talking to God/reading the Bible. Yup. Good stuff.

Hugs, long soak in a hot tub, curling up with a good book and a blanket, more hugs , having someone play with my hair.

my kitties, especially Abbey and Ryno. Abbey is very loveable and Ryno has the softest fur.

A big pan of warm brownies

a burrito or enchilada meal from my favourite local Tex/Mex restaurant

a cup of hot chocolate

my music...especially songs that take me back to particular happy times

prayer

bible verses of encouragement

high speed internet....I can google pix of happy places (BC!)

going for a drive or a walk

watching the birds outside

a pretty blue sky with white fluffy clouds.

a gentle breeze on a warm day

When I am out of sorts, I like to pray. Calms me down. Sometimes I also like to read Scripture when I am like that - but usually I do not do that when I am out of sorts, because I cannot concentrate enough to read and comprehend. I wait until I have calmed down a bit.

Other comforts:
My doggies.
Music.
Books I read when I was little - or Harry Potter books (Bring back happy memories.)
Cuddling up in bed with a warm blanket and a stuffed animal and just trying to relax.
