  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Come Follow Me

Mark 1:17 "Come, follow me" Jesus said ...

Everyone has probably played the game "Simon Says". In the game, one player is appointed Simon, the leader, and the object of the game is to catch a player following an instruction that wasn't prefaced with the words, "Simon says". So in order to win, you had to listen carefully to the leader and follow only those instructions given by the leader.

Think about the calling of the disciples. Jesus the leader would say "Come, follow me" and the disciples would hear His voice and follow immediately. In Mathhew 8:22 they couldn't even go back and bury their dead. Isn't this a little like the game "Simon Says" with Jesus as the leader? Are we listening carefully for His voice and trying to follow His instructions?

Today, this same Jesus is watching over each of us, as we go about our work and daily activities. And, as the leader, His words to us are the same as they were to the disciples: "Come, follow me". Today, are we listening carefully for His voice and trying to follow His instructions?

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Thank You Lord that You are still calling us today. Help each of us listen for Your voice and follow. Thank You that as each follows and serves You - they will be honored. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yesterday's message is still following me today - especially John 12:26. If you are truly serving Christ - you must follow His lead. Look at the awesome promise in the second part of this verse - Jesus is with the one who follows & serves - the Lord honors this!

Look what someone said about the picture - I didn't think of this before!

Oh, Karen, that picture of the double rainbow is
absolutely perfect. It's like we are to be
as He is...the first rainbow is Him and we are to do our best
to be like that one. When two rainbows are together, one is
always less vibrant..like us.

I think maybe this is part of the honor of following Christ - we get to look even a little like Him - beautiful!

This is exactly how I felt when I left the episcopal church last year. I felt like I left everything behind to follow Jesus - this was difficult but He has blessed my family - I'm just starting to see some of these blessings! And yes, one of the blessings is that I can see Jesus in each of my family members more clearly.

... PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

Thank You Lord for Your invitation to come & follow. Help each of us step boldly forward to accept Your invitation. Thank You for the chance to look even a little like You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
