History: Mortimer was born in South Carolina in 1835. He grew up amid the hostility toward the Union. When he was 18, he moved down to Texas with a few dollars and a Colt cap and ball revolver. On the way down, he became extremely proficient with his pistol. When he arrived there, he joined up with the Texas Rangers. He served with them until the Civil War when he joined the Confederates and rode with J.E.B. Stuart. After the Civil War, he was able to steal some gold Southerners had cached. It was with this money that he set up a cattle ranch. Soon after his ranch began to make some profit, he was hit by rustlers, shot, and left for dead. Alexander recovered and soon after his recovery decided to hunt down and kill the rustlers, for vengeance of course. In the process of his pursuit, he learned that he had a knack for hunting bounty. This was the occupation the he decided to take up in order to earn more money to rebuild his ranch. He has amassed a fortune and has no intention of quitting this line of work.
