  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Go to: http://www.christiancollegementor.com/Select/MatchAsst/default.asp

This is a part of Christian College Mentor. Enter your major and other information and you'll get a list of CHristian colleges that offer what you are looking at. Since you are initerested in 2 programs, search twice and see what colleges come up on both.

Keep in mind, that if you really want to counsel people, you are going to need a Masters degree. An undergraduate degree in counseling is, frankly, worthless. Depending upon which state you are in, you will need a MA in counseling or a MSW.
If you'd like to be a nurse with good couseling skills, a double major or a minor would be of help.

Also, think about nurse practitioner. It's like a master degree in nursiing. NPs have far more freedom and flexibility than PAs do. Keep that in mind as you plan.

Let me know what you find!

Does anyone know of a good Christian school to study religion? I've been searching, but none of the one's I've looked at look good for me. I wont be going to a college for about a year because I am joining Youth With A Mission and going to Discipleship Training School in April...But i want to think about it now.

i know Florida Christian college does co-ops with a local state school for a nursing degree, i am pretty sure too that Ozark Christian college does, i know a few students that have gone or are going to both and are doing a nursing degree.
Neither of these colleges offeres a degree in nursing. A quick look at their web site and I did not see a mention of a co-op program eitehr, but I may have missed it.

There are dozens of good Christian colleges that offer degrees in Bible and ministry related areas. Can you provide a little more information?

Kind of degree you are seeking?

denominational/theological perspective?

plans after your graduate?

geography?

How do you define "good"?

activities or organizations?

Narrow the field down a little... and give Christian College Mentor a try.

FYI - there are a growing number of people in the news business who encourage those interested in journalism NOT to major in journalism.

Their argument is that journalism does not have you learning about something in depth other than journalism. Learning to write in the journalistic style is not all that difficult and does not require all that much practice. Learning to think, reason, research, organize etc. are far more vital skills and you will have more oppportunity to learn them in actual study about something - ANYTHING! Obviously writing for college or community publications is helpful, but you can do that with any major.

Just so you can give that some thought... Obviously teachers and professors of journalism think differently, but I have read more than one newspaper editor saying that they simply will not hire J. majors.
