  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I really never hung out at coffee shops or book stores during H.S b/c there wasn't such a thing in my town or nearby. But I have been spending quite a bit of time at these places with my roommates hanging out and talking, or just going by myself to do homework (it is a lot better than sitting in my room or the library). It is always fun to people watch also and I've noticed some pretty interesting, cute, and intelligent-looking guys.... I'm not saying I go here to boy-hunt, but they are definitely places to maybe pick up guys:) Any other favorite spots to boy-look, search, watch people?!!

I wish there were more bookstores around here. There's only one that I know of, and it's not really a sit down place.

But if those guys approach you, isn't it pretty much going to be on the basis of looks alone? Even at church when I see an attractive lady I don't make an effort to approach her until I have a real reason to approach her beyond looks.

I can see where you're coming from, but a bookstore also has the advantage of getting a small glimpse of what people may be interested in, by seeing what they read. How can you ever find a reason to approach someone if you never approach them in the first place?

Bookstores in America are getting coffee shops built into them more and more. Also, regular coffee shops are a popular place to read, study, or use your laptop.

I never used to hang out at coffee shops either because I didn't like coffee. But I have been hanging out at them more and more along with book stores. Now if I could just get up enough courage to approach a girl. I just never know when to approach one. And if she is studying I don't want to bother her.
