The remnants of Hurricane Isabel passed through Jersey last night, though she wasnt quite as violent here in Jersey as she was down in the North Carolina and Virginia area.Anyway, seeing as how I have this certain fascination with the beach and the ocean I decided to take my coffee and head down to the shore.Standing there, with my coffee at the waters edge, looking out at the ocean was one of the most awesome sights I have ever seen. The ocean churned in anger with some of the largest waves Ive ever seen along the Jersey shore pounding the beach.Looking out over the water, through the windswept rain, the only thing you could see other than the darkness was one lighthouse way off in the distance. The lighthouse was there to send out a beacon of light to guide the ships and fishing vessels through the darkness. As I stood there sipping my coffee, I thought of that little lighthouse off in the distance . . .How that little beacon of light guided these huge ocean vessels through the darkness and the stormy seas to their destination. . .And how the Lord sends out his beacon of light to guide us through our sea of our life. And I was comforted by the thought of how that beacon of light that the Good Lord shines forth for us to follow is always there . . .never flickering, but always shining brightly to guide us through the stormy seas in our life . . .And to guide us to our ultimate destination in heaven. Just a thought over coffee. Durango
