Spend time with Him.
Sing psalms and make melody in your heart to Him.
Rejoice with thanksgiving for all He has done for you.
Thank Him in all things, for this is the will of God concerning you.

Humility, a willingness and desire to please Him.
being prepared to deny you whole self, for what you have is only what God has given you, but He offers you so much more.
A loving kindness and mercy as God as shown you, and unselfish pure heart that only God provides.
For the things of the world can keep us from God by our lusts and desires for them, but Gods love is pure, and it's not about our selfish gain.
God is love, a pure love that the world who reject Him don't posses.
A love that none of us of oursleves posses, but only comes from the Almighty.
We are to open our hearts to Him, not be concerned about the needless things of the world, but to seek Him first, above all.
God gives us what we need, what we really need, what can really fullfill us and purify us in such a pure way that can only be distributed from One.
it's the unpure things of the world that keep us from God, but God's love is untainted, and to get closer to this i think we need to let the unpure be washed from us, by the fountain of love that only flows from God, but can flow between each of us, but God is the Distributor not us, and it's Him who deserves all the glory and praise.
seek Him with an unselfish heart, for that's what He rewards us with, for the things of the world will pass away, but Gods love will last for eternity, and those who partake of it, what need will they have of the physical world when it's passed away, for we will have overcome the physical world and live forever by the love that keeps us truly alive.

God could not be closer to you than He is already. Christ is in you, and you are in Him. He has solved all of our problems by His life, death, and resurrection, cutting the way to full reconcilliation. He has solved our problem of sins, what we do; and sin, what we are. On the one hand he died and shed His blood for our actions. On the other hand, in Him, we died, so that we no longer serve sin as slaves. The same way you would get closer to someone in a human relationship. Spend more and more time with them and get to know their character and involve them in each aspect of your life. That's what God wants from us. He wants every part of us. Seek after his face and you will fall in love with your creator. The deeper you go, the further one desires to go.

if you want to get closer to something, spend more time walking in its direction.
do this,
go into your room and turn off the lights and put some worship music on, and dont just sing along, but begin to express yourself to God with honesty and love. sing to him what you feel, tell him what you feel, and the key is this... making up your mind that you need Gods touch too badly to leave that room before you get what you came for. and when you feel that way, your desperate, and God has compassion, and hell come.
and dont feel like your having to break something down or push through something, its not a fight, its not like a demon is resisting you.
but let that cry of your heart come up out of you and let that brokeness feel you. and when you feel the tears well up in you and the cry of your heart comes forth becuase you need him so much, hell come. and your crying out to him, in true desperation, hell come.
thats why not everyone really knows God, not everyone can cry tears for God, they just cant, becuase their cold, and God doesnt come where he isnt desperately desired.
but be patient and wait on him.
ask the holyspirit to come and help you, and when you are honest, HONESTLY seeking him, he will come, and you need to follow his quiet gentle leading, as he leads you in the presence of God. dont miss it!
hell quietly and gently lead you to do something, and make sure you dont miss it!, doit, becuase you could miss your miracle, by not be very still and sensitive to his spirit, dont miss it by being in a hurry, and dont miss it by being to careless. it takes desperation and brokenness, be still and patient, great things only come to those willing to wait.
sometimes my most precious times, come when i just say "Lord...i will wait on you to come, just please come" and that touches Gods heart, and he cant resist.
you must practise the presence of God everyday. thats why it is so important to have a time and place to seek Gods face.
if you let yourself go a day, 2 days, a week with no prayer, you can feel the diffrence, your cold again, and the sweetness of his presence is gone.
thats why paul said you must renew your spirit daily.
if your not growing, your slowly dying.

God is seeking a closer relationship with those whom He is calling and that desire we feel to come to Him is the "drawing" of His Spirit. Yield to that drawing.

I have a friend who tells me she prays 3 times a day-morning, afternoon and at night. For her prayer at night, she prays and sings a song. It was the first time i heard of this habit by a friend but i thought it was kinda cool.
The key to have your heart shaped into what God wants you to be is by close communion with God. This communion is by prayer. I'll post a thread entitled "How to get more out of prayer"...look out for it.
