I did a thread in Singles once entitled Conservative Clean Comedy - and I just felt I could have done a better thread out of it - so a new forum - a new thread about Clean Comedy. I think I scared people away because I used the "C" word which was the word - Conservative.
So I'm ditching out the "C" word and just going to say Clean Comedy (in general - no cussing or sexual jokes) it doesn't have to be filled with religious or conversative messages to be considered clean comedy. In my research clean comedy has been in the majority linked to some religious background - but to make people actually read this whole thread without judging the concept of clean comedy and saying it is "lame" and that is it. I'm doing this thread (again) and giving people the chance to really think about it. I know that this ain't everybody's cup of tea - but its been sort of like a myth of comedy - like you can't be clean you got to be dirty to make people laugh in our culture.
There are many clean standup routines - like for example Bill Cosby did a lot of standup routines in the 60's, 70's, and 80's which isn't considered "conservative" but at most considered - clean comedy. Maybe some will say the Blue Collar Comedy Tour is another clean comedy route (mostly).
I just felt - last year that I had enough with the normal comedy standup routines. I heard enough about the F-bombs and all the bad jokes seems to be the same old ones over and over again. I had enough in watching the same old stuff - it was just not funny anymore - so I thought there got to be a different route to comedy - and this is what I discovered about the clean comedy route.
God Bless,
Drew
Here are some questions:
What is your thoughts about Clean Comedy?
(religious OR non-religious outlooks - any standup routine that doesn't have cuss words or sexual humor - a safe family wholesome routine)
Should there be more Clean Comedy out there that is equal to the main stream of comedy?
(clean comedy is like in the forgotten shy brother that stays at home awhile its brother Dirty Jason gets all the fame)
Why is Clean Comedy not as popular with the masses of comedy? (like it is considered lame and judged without giving it a chance - do you really need to hear the F-bomb or tell a sexual joke every 5 minutes to be considered funny)
Have you ever heard of Bananas Comedy and Thou Shalt Laugh? Any other clean comedy series you heard about? (yes/no/opinion)
Did you knew there was such an option with Comedy such as Clean Comedy that you can enjoy with the whole family? (yes/no/no opinion)
What would you preferred - Clean Comedy or Regular Comedy? (you can also do both if you wish)
