Right now, I'm listening to AMEB Piano For Leisure Series 1 (Eighth Grade). Technically, it's homework - I'm meant to listen to the pieces I'm learning so I know what they sound like, and then listen to the other pieces to pick a new one to learn. But they get really good pianists to play these pieces, so it's fun to listen to.

At the moment, I'm listening to Handel's "Air and Variations" (called the "Harmonious Blacksmith") which I'm learning. I actually don't like this performance of it... Not very Baroque. I just listened to Grainger's "Country Gardens", and next up is Mozart's "Fantasy".

I used to have a thing for Beethoven - I played him and listened to him constantly. I'm over that now. I still like his music, but I have broader tastes. At the moment, I really like anything Baroque - Handel and Pachelbel mostly, not Bach so much.

I'm doing Solo Performance on Piano as a subject in Year 12 this year - I have to give a 25-minute performance at the end of the year. So far, it looks like I'll be playing: Mozart's "Rondo Alla Turka", Pachelbel's "Canon in D" (absolute awesomeness, even if it's not really a canon), the 1st Movement of Beethoven's Sonata in C# Minor ("Moonlight Sonata"), Mozart's "Air and Variations on a French Folk Song: Ah! Vous dirai-je maman", Joplin's "The Entertainer", and Handel's "Air and Variations: The Harmonious Blacksmith". Not necessarily in that order. They're all pretty fun pieces.

It is really cool to see people online who listen to classical music because I know almost nobody in person who does! I am a huge fan of Rachmaninoff, but recently I've been listening to some of Bach's religious works such as the Mass in b and the St. John & St. Matthew Passions

Really? No-one listens to classical music?

Most of my friends listen to classical... only a few of them listen to modern pop teenage stuff. Then again, most of my friends are either from the homeschooling group or from the string orchestra...
