It became Ginger Holdings LLC.

He listed it as...Ginger, Ltd., Partnership”

Perhaps his intern filed the name wrong on the form, boxed it up, and forgot about it.

If this ever amounts to something real... like it's been used to funnel bribes....or really anything other than getting his wife's real estate firm name wrong by a few letters....I'm sure we'll find a real story about it. Unfortunately, you can't weaponize the federal government against the SCOTUS....and frankly, I doubt any judges have the juevos to deny CT an appeal. I can't imagine he can be bullied off the bench....frankly, the Democrats already tried this when he took the bench. It didn't work then either.

The NYT is a corrupt propaganda outlet trying to gin up outrage to keep readers from noticing that our most highly classified secrets are being spilled on the internet and this administration appears to have been lying about the extent of our involvement in Ukraine and how successful its been.

I don't blame them for playing defense for the Dems...they are their puppets after all....but finding a typo and pretending it's a big deal is literally making them look insane.

MY favourite thing is how you create your own reality to explain away things and then fully commit, to it to the point where, because we are "finding a typo" we are now "insane". I mean you have 0 proof or even ANY kind of suggestion anywhere that that is what happenned, but you've now glommed onto that.

Not that you'd care, but it's a kind of gaslighting.

That is not the problem at all.

Why?? Because they're honest?

Joe ran on being a moderate who can reach across the aisle....lie.

Joe offered a 4th grade book report on his failed exit from Afghanistan, mostly blaming Trump, as if he wasn't already acquainted with the situation for 8 years under Obama and somehow.....Trump's fault....lie.

Covid vaccine will prevent spread....lie.

I could go on but...I doubt any policy or decisions are coming from Joe anyway....

So what do you think the problem is?

I think the problem is the lack of declarations of gifts and hospitality by supreme court Justice Clarence Thomas. It is distracting to drag up irrelevancies such as Covid and the Afghan War. I am sure there are threads for these issues.

What-aboutery at its best!

I like to call it common sense.

to explain away things and then fully commit,

This doesn't need explained away. It's not even an accusation. I don't subscribe to state affiliated propaganda....but unless there's some evidence of something unethical occurring here...what exactly did you expect as a response?

to it to the point where, because we are "finding a typo" we are now "insane".

It's been multiple articles over several days....while the administration downplays the most significant classified info breach in living memory and the WaPo wants me to be upset about whether or not Clarence Thomas ever got the name of his wife's business wrong....after its name changed slightly.

I mean you have 0 proof or even ANY kind of suggestion anywhere that that is what happenned, but you've now glommed onto that.

Your article suggests the likelihood of it.

"The previously unreported misstatement might be dismissed as a paperwork error."

Not that you'd care, but it's a kind of gaslighting.

I can tell the WaPo article wants you to imagine something nefarious happening here. Thomas' wife and her family are in the real estate business. When the business grew, they made some legal changes, changed the name slightly, and....continued doing business.

Thomas continued reporting the income.

He used the old name....and I have no idea why you imagine this amounts to anything more than a typo. Obviously, the WaPo wants you to imagine something nefarious here...because when they looked, they couldn't find anything. If they did, I can only assume they would have included it in this cheap hit piece.

He listed the old business name instead of the new one. The important part, reporting the income, is something he appears to have been doing regardless.

I have no idea what you think this means....other than Thomas was mistaken about the name of his wife's family's business.

Remember when I said the left has no consistent values? No standards? No principles that I can identify and you got all upset and proclaimed the left the most morally righteous group etc?

Then I asked for an example of one....just one value they consistently adhered to?

Did you ever manage to think of one?

My point was that you don't really care about ethics.

And my point is you, nor anyone else responding to this thread are in a position to say if another poster cares about ethics.

Why not?

Ethics are a standard....one applicable to all within a category. We aren't talking about morality here. We're talking about ethics.

Now....perhaps you had a good reason for why I'm unable to conclude that posters don't genuinely seem to care about ethics. It's even possible you'll explain what you meant by this post.

I'm not going to hold my breath though .

You conclude someone in a forum doesn't care about ethics based on what?

Apparently even his colleagues advised him that he wasn't required to disclose these vacations as gifts. He went on some vacations with friends....and his accusers have known about this for 25 years.

It is distracting to drag up irrelevancies

I'm not sure you'd be able to spot a distraction if it was added to the headline of the article you were reading....

**Warning! This article is meant to distract you from the ongoing failure and constant corruption of the current administration!**

What-aboutery at its best!

It's weird how the left completely lose track of concepts like "whataboutism". I'm not saying that the crimes others have been engaged in somehow justify the crimes Thomas is being accused of....

I'm saying....

1. These aren't crimes. There's literally no evidence of any crime or ethical violation presented in these articles.

2. Nobody on the left actually cares about ethics. We have evidence actual crimes....they don't appear to be investigated at all.

The complete disregard of ethical violations that don't serve their political narrative.

If someone is going to claim to care about ethics....they have to have a value or principle that they hold regardless of political convenience. I've been asking for years now what the left supposedly stands for. I even asked someone on this thread who insisted that he participates in multiple political forums/boards and it's only the left that's ethical....and he too couldn't come up with a single value or principle.

Complaints about Justice Thomas’s disclosures sent to judicial committee

"U.S. District Judge Roslynn R. Mauskopf, director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, responded Tuesday to say the lawmakers’ complaint had been referred to the authorized committee.
“I have forwarded your letter to the Judicial Conference Committee on Financial Disclosure, which is responsible for implementing the disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act and addressing allegations of errors or omissions in the filing of financial disclosure reports,” Mauskopf wrote in a letter obtained by The Washington Post."

Allegations from congressional Democrats that Justice Clarence Thomas probably violated federal ethics laws in his dealings with a Republican donor have been sent to a committee of federal judges responsible for “addressing allegations of errors or omissions in the filing of financial disclosure reports,” a top judicial official said Tuesday.
....

U.S. District Judge Roslynn R. Mauskopf, director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, responded Tuesday to say the lawmakers’ complaint had been referred to the authorized committee.
“I have forwarded your letter to the Judicial Conference Committee on Financial Disclosure, which is responsible for implementing the disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act and addressing allegations of errors or omissions in the filing of financial disclosure reports,” Mauskopf wrote in a letter obtained by The Washington Post.
Her short reply did not indicate how or whether the committee would proceed.

The Judicial Conference is chaired by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. Sixteen federal judges sit on the Committee on Financial Disclosure. U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning, the committee’s chairman, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday about how the panel would handle the referral.
