  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is truely a challenging subject! My heart tells me that a child should be circ* at birth if his parents have a saving Faith in Yeshua, but that as an adult, it is up to the person weather or not to do it, as the act itself doesnt save you, Yeshua does...IMO circ* is a picture of our flesh being removed at the olam habah when we all recieve glorified bodies that will never see corrumption...One day we will all be circ* from head to toe(and it wont hurt either )

I think the first time they were circ' was before they came out of Eygpt. I don't see where they were circ' during the time they went thru the wilderness for forty years.

In verses 5 and 6 it says all had been circ'd when they came out of Eygpt. They were in the wilderness for two years before Moshe sent the spys to spy out the land. When the spys gave a bad report, G-d said all those of the age 20 and over would die in the wilderness because they believed a bad report. There were a bunch of kids and young men under 20 that were circ'd, but no one during there traveling thru the wilderness was circ'd. so maybe these young guys are the ones that got circ'd again when they crossed the Jordan.

That is the only way I can see that anyone was cir'd twice. All I know for sure is that no one was circ'd during the forty years they wandered in the wilderness.

It is an interesting question though.

Show me where, in christ words, he says that no one should be circumcised? Then show me where i have worked to undue anything that christ has said?

I recall the words of christ:

Matthew 5:17-20 17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
***

Now take a look at what you said to me. Do you not teach lawlessness?

Are you saying then that Paul got it wrong when he argued publicly with Peter that Gentiles should not be cicumcised?

gentiles and circumcision doesn't make any sense, since it was the seed of Abraham that the covenant was made with for Israel, not the gentiles. The gentiles live in their own land, their own nations, not in Israel. I suppose if they want to become part of the jewish people, and live in Israel, then that may be another story. I'm still trying to put this all together myself. What do you think?
