Matthew 21:40-41
Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard COMES, what will he do to those tenants?” “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they declared, “and will rent out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the fruit at harvest time.”
And the priests and Pharisees knew Jesus was talking about them.
Matthew 21:45 When the chief priests and Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew He was speaking about them.
Do you not believe "His kingdom come"?Jesus hasnt come .Simple as that.
Who do the 12 represent?
Then ,the 12 tribes after them.
Matthew 10:23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
There seems to be a few on this board who believe Christ has come.
Can anyone provide an eye witness account of this event?
It does not appear biblical for there are no eye witness accounts in the bible.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him--even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.
The owner of the vineyard is God the Father, who sent His "son", who is the rightful "heir" to the land.
.
I'm simply not changing the meaning of OT language to understand the coming of Christ.
When God came riding on clouds to judge Egypt, it was the Assyrian army invading egypt
When God came down from heaven to judge Samaria, it was the Assyrian attacking samaria
When God came down out of heaven to judge king Saul, it was the philistines and king saul's own sword.
When the vineyard owner came out of heaven to judge the wicked tenants it was the army (rome) he sent to destroy Jerusalem.
So why would the coming of Christ, who is God, be different in the NT than in the OT?
I agree. And this vineyard owner was going to COME and destroy the wicked tenants who killed his son and rent out his vineyard to those that would bear fruit.

has this not happened yet? Is Christ, the son, not the owner of vineyard?
Your the one wanting to talk about the old. This thread is about thecoming of christ. You wanted to change it to the coming of the romans.Where does the OT state he would be born in a manger?
He was born,in a manger.Isnt that different than what you listed in,the OT?
Where does the OT state he would be born in a manger?
Do you not believe "His kingdom come"?
Or do you disagree with this?
In line with prophecy of Daniel 7:13–14, Jesus predicted that He would return to the immediate presence of His Father and receive the kingdom that was appointed for Him upon the completion of His earthly ministry (Matt. 24:29–30). Christ’s reception of His kingdom is closely connected to several other events besides His ascension, one of which is the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The fall of the temple and priesthood was a visible, historical confirmation that the Messiah had come and, as the final High Priest, inaugurated a new covenant through the shedding of His blood (Heb. 9:1–10:18). ~ Ligonier Ministries
They are the 12 disciples as verse 1 explains.
That isn't found in scripture. The passage we are discussing is about Christ sending 12 ppl what they are to expect to happen to them.
Who are you claiming is bringing forth the fruit of his kingdom?
Your the one wanting to talk about the old.

I'm not sure where you're getting that percentage from - but it actually isn't very relevant anyway.98 percent of the people living in, israel today reject christ just as thier fathers did.
I think I need you to "enlighten" me. Can you elaborate on this?So you dont know what kingdom was promised to christ. If you knew you wouldnt say he posesses it today.
The body of Christ
John 15:5 I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit.
Correct.
But I posted verses about God coming down from heaven in judgment of Saul and david's enemies (2 samue 22), God coming down from heaven to judge Egypt using Assyria (Isaiah 19-20), and God coming down from heaven to judge samaria using Assyria (Micah 1).
You then switched to the coming of God in flesh
I agree it is. So why is the coming of Christ in the NT different from the coming of God in the OT to judge nations
No, simply pointing out the coming of God in the OT was God using nations to judge other nations. So why would the coming of God in the NT be different?
No.The body ofChrist is not bringing forth the fruit planted in the kingdom where the pharisees once lived.
Do you understand what kingdom is promised to christ?
I'm not sure where you're getting that percentage from - but it actually isn't very relevant anyway.
Who was the early church (including the disciples)?
I believe Baberean2 may have already shared this, but it seems this fact gets ignored:
Jer_31:31 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
Heb_8:8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "BEHOLD, THE DAYS ARE COMING, SAYS THE LORD, WHEN I WILL MAKE A NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND WITH THE HOUSE OF JUDAH—
Acts 2 (Pentecost) ~
5 At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. 6When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers.
7They were completely amazed. “How can this be?” they exclaimed. “These people are all from Galilee,8and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages! 9Here we are—Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, 10Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome 11(both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs. And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!” 12They stood there amazed and perplexed. “What can this mean?” they asked each other.
37Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentilesh—all who have been called by the Lord our God.” 40Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
41Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
I think I need you to "enlighten" me. Can you elaborate on this?
It's sincerely disheartening for me to learn that so many Christians do NOT believe that God is victorious (already) and that they are waiting for Him to take control of His kingdom.
The kingdom promised to Christ is the promised land.It always was.
Galatians 3:16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, "and to seeds," meaning many, but "and to your seed," meaning One, who is Christ. But for the time being, those in christ in that kingdom are persecuted and killed and times shall continue to get worse untill christ comes.
