If someone claims to be messianic, are they considered Christian? Is it one in the same? If so, why the distinction?
Some accept them, others do not.

What it means to be a Christian is highly undefined, despite it seems people attempts at the task.

The words "Christ" and "Messiah" mean the same thing. One has a Greek root, the other Hebrew. To be a "Christian" is to be a "Messiah-ist".

There are those who try to being national heritage into Christianity. Paul taught that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek. All are one in Christ.

Peace.
