]Christianity is a religion
Not really..... “ Religion” is what man does for God . All Religions are just different methods a man uses to make himself “ worthy” before a particular god. It’s all about one’s Performance being adequate or not.
Christianity is the opposite of religion....it’s all about what God has done for hopeless , helpless , lost Sinners.....A Christian knows that he can not never make himself “ Worthy” ——- he must be “ MADE WORTHY” by the Blood Of Jesus , Plus Nothing...
Be seen as “Worthy”—— Fit For Heaven — by RESTING in the Gospel Of Grace....1 Cor15:1-4......
Yeah - Christianity really is a religion.
Jesus Christ is not a religion. So following Him by listening to Him and doing what He says, is not a response to religion, but a response to Him whose name is called "The Word of God". That person would be called a Christian because they follow Him. Yet there is another person who would also call themselves a Christian because they follow a religion called Christianity.
The Lord once gave me a parable called Two Towns. In it we see that often two different things have the same name, and even that people like it that they do. Still they are not being in the same place.
You know that the Lord speaks in parables at times, right (Ps 78)
We are not worthy, means that we are not the ones who know and do only what is right. If we really understood that we would seek the Lord for His instructions even for when to turn to the right or left, and we would hear the voice of the Lord helping us. That voice comes via the Spirit of God who does not speak on His own initiative but as He hears from the Lord Jesus Christ He speaks to our spirit. So what do you mean by "Blood of Jesus". Are you still speaking in parables? He told His disciples that He spoke to people because with their ears they did not hear.
That makes sense, because parables are a way a Teacher uses to help people understand. But if they understand then there is no longer a need to speak to them in parables. So I will give you the parable "Two Towns" that He once gave me to help me understand that a Christian can both be someone seeking Him or someone seeking a religion called Christianity.
TWO TOWNS:
Once upon a time there was a town called Two because it had two people in the town. Now two miles away there was another town, called Too because it too had two people in the town. Now the two judges in the land came to Two and went to Too too because they wanted to judge whether Two or Too should be required to change their name. The judges decided to hold court at two in Too in two days.
So, in two days the two judges with the two of Two travel the two miles to Too. So at two in Too the two judges and the two of Too and the two of Two too held the hearing,
Of course it didn’t take but two minutes to decide that since neither of the two towns had the same name there was nothing that could be done. So at two after two both the two of Too and the two of Two hugged the two judges because the two of Too and the two of Two loved the names of Two and Too too.
The End
So, there is no law against two different things to having the same name. So it’s ok to call Jesus the “Word of God”, and the Scriptures the “Word of God” too, but Jesus is the Word of God that we preach. Remember, they were two different towns!
