  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

according to the Gospels were two years. for this thread it makes not difference, but it is good to say the correct lenght of the ministery: two year and a couple of months.
Yes you are correct, His ministry may have even been as short as 62 months according to some bible scholars, either way He had to eat something in that time period, I know He could fast for forty days and nights ....lol but how many times do we read of Him doing that? I get the feeling your of the protestant background, no need to even evangelize really whoever is chosen is chosen, God will find them one way or another. might as well sit back and enjoy the ride

Scholars can be wrong as any one. A scholar teach what he is suppose to teach, not what it really is the true. The Gospels are very clear on tha lengt of the ministery. It commenced litle before Passover in 28AD, it was another Passover in 29AD and Jesus was crucified during Passover 30AD. That makes some 26 months.

But if we are to continye this issue I prefer to open an specific thread for it.

Obviously Jesus needed money...the Apostles needed money...Paul needed money (he did not take monney from the churches he opened, but he was sent from Antioqia with money. Have you notice that not even in one of those cases it is mentioned the tithe?

I get the feeling your of the protestant background, no need to even evangelize really whoever is chosen is chosen, God will find them one way or another might as well sit back and enjoy.

The present time protestants believe that the key of evangelist is to use the most modern techniques of selling. The best methods of publicity are used in order to reach the public. And offcourse as well as any company, it is necesary a good amount of money to hire the media.

The point is that people seeking for God did stop going to a church. Then it is necesary to go out there to atrack them. But the sad true is that is God who stop those persons to seek him in a place that do not represent him any more. And the people itself knows that very well.

Churches have to atrack peole promising whatever but salvation. Some offer a hot soup. Some ofer miracles of healing. Some offer material prosperity. But there is a common place, the churches ask money in return.

Even the good intentioned churches are expecting to get some money in return. In the best case, a evangelistic campaign has to result in a money entry capable of a second campaig, wich will have a money returs for financing the next campaign.

Unfortunately for all those pastors, they are wrong. It is not necesary any money to preach the gospel. People is already choosen. We have the option of being an instrument of God and have in return the joy of seeing one person being saved; or we will stay aside and see the same person being saved by other means.

I have a long, very long background of personal evangelism, person to person. And believeme it is a extraordinary expirience with a huge satisfactory feeling and a enormous spiritual grow. With cero money, except the money I eat any how.
