CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I listened to John Osteen for years on the radio. Joel just doesn't do it for me. He has some teachings that I don't agree with.
I am presently not attending anywhere. I left the Church of Christ because of legalism and I haven't worked very hard at going back to Church yet.
I live near Kingwood in Porter. Where are you?

Yea I understand. I don't agree with any pracher or Church completely either.
They all have some doctrines I don't agree with.
I do feel the presence of the Holy spirit at lakewood though. You should visit sometime.

Christian, Texan, and Aggie here.
Not all of us have accents. I lived in Wisconsin for almost 5 years, and they couldn't believe I was a Texan. My husband doesn't have an accent either, nor do many of our friends. People outside of Texas rarely believe this is possible. They think all Texans sound like J.R. Ewing. Of course, I can put on a convincing Texas accent when I want to. I can do a pretty credible screechy West Texas female accent or South Texas Spanglish accent.

I can lose my accent but I have to try though.
My accent is actually not Texan it is Ky, Tn, sothern Mo, Ar. Texan accent. I am true southern gentleman and proud of it.
