  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Christian Theonomy and Reconstructionism seems to be spreading a lot among young Reformers. Many of the young Calvinists I have met online (mainly through xanga, which is a blog site) are Christian Theonomists and Reconstricionists. I myself have not fully made up my mind but do tend to lean in that direction.

Is it just me, or is Reconcstructionism/Dominion theology spreading like mad?

Christ said, "My kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36).

Rabbit trail theology has always been around. Satan has had two thousand years to lay a groundwork of "religious traps" and it seems to be working well. Religious RHETORIC and denominational party line jargon is what seems to appeal to the FLESH, but we are advised to "rightly divide" and to compare the things that differ for a reason.

Make your focus the revelation given to Paul FOR us the Body...and you cant go wrong.

Reconstructionism isn't as big a factor in Reformed circles now, but there are a number of websites that continue to attract people to it.

After Bahnsen died and North obsessed, it became less of a factor.

I don't particularly appreciate Reconstructionism, but I do hope it leads people to look more closely at other theologies that take a positive view of the Law. The Law isn't the plan of salvation. But it was given to redeemed people for a reason.

I have not come across many reconsructivists in reformed circles. I have only met one. It seems to be more of an American thing. :)

Well, I've also hit it in Australian circles as well as Free Church of ... I think it was Ireland (because I was surprised, I expected Scotland).

I'm not familiar with the denominational subtleties (those in the US alone are mind-boggling), but I will admit I haven't heard much from Europe or England/Scotland regarding Reconstructionism.
