I have a request to make, I want to turn this thread into an awesome resource of christian quotes. A quote about christianity, make them Pro-christianity please. I just love reading some of these, and so i wanted to put them up here for others to read, and so maybe i can get some knew ones. My favorites are:

"How will you know if your spouse is bad in bed if he/she is the only one you've ever slept with?"
-Joshua Harris

"God by definition is the uncreated creator of the universe, so the question ‘Who created God?’ is illogical, just like ‘To whom is the bachelor married?’ "
-Someone on this forum said this, i dunno who.

"You say you dont believe in God because you cant see him, can you see air? can you see love? can you see radiation? No you cant, but you still believe that those things exist, why is God so different?"
-Me

"We believe that all men are created equal because they are created in the image of God."
-Harry S. Truman

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to the garage makes you a car "
-Laurence J. Peter
(can also substitute garage for McDonalds, and car for Hamburger, as in my profile)

reply with your own please! I love these!!!!!

Does it need to be a quote about Christianity itself, or can it be about values that Christians espouse? For example:

Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and crimes from society.
-- Benjamin Franklin

Here is my favorite (kind of long, but as I said, my favorite):

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.

I assume that this lady was a Christian, but I LOVED this when I read it. It has to do with abstinance and how "practice safe sex" to unwed couples is such a contradiction:

"Sex isn't evil. Sex is wonderful and we should teach our children to respect it. But we must be consistent. We don't say 'Don't do drugs, but if you do, use a clean needle' "

Live as though Christ died yesterday, rose from the grave today, and is coming back tomorrow. - Theodore Epp

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to the garage makes you a car - Laurence J. Peter

Life is Fragile; Handle with Prayer - Anon

If you're worth dying for, He's worth living for - Andy Carlyon

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven
the inexcusable in you. - CS Lewis

That is so very true. Parents don't realize the importance of temperance and self restraint. Intemperance, of any kind, weakens moral strength so that eternal things are not appreciated but are placed on a level with common things. The higher powers of the mind, designed for noble purposes, are brought into the slavery to the baser passions.

I've kept a list of quotes myself and will just present some of them here.

"Jesus does not require of man any real sacrifice; for whatever we are asked to surrender is only that which we are better off without. We are only letting go the lesser, the more worthless, for the greater, the more valuable." - Review and Herald, Aug 11, 1891

"How can One who is merciful, and who is also infinite in power, tolerate such injustice and oppression? This is a question with which we have nothing to do. God has given us sufficient evidence of His love, and we are not to doubt His goodness because we cannot understand the workings of His providence." - The Great Controversy, E.G.White

No temptation or trial is permitted to come to him which he is unable to resist. God made such ample provision that man need never have been defeated in the conflict with Satan. - E.G.White, Patriachs and Prophets, page 332, paragraph 4.

None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict" (The Great Controversy, pp. 593, 594)

"The best advertisement of Christianity is a good life. People read us a great deal more than they read the Bible. They see us; they only hear about Jesus Christ."

Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme, will find perplexities vanish and a plain path before their feet.(The Faith I Live By, page 64, paragraph 6)

Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. {LDE 39.2}

It is the privilege of every Christian, not only to look for, but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Were all who profess His name bearing fruit to His glory, how quickly the whole world would be sown with the seed of the gospel. Quickly the last great harvest would be ripened, and Christ would come to gather the precious grain.--COL 69 (1900). {LDE 39.3}

"Let the children be taught that as they open their minds to pure, loving thoughts and do loving and helpful deeds, they are clothing themselves with His beautiful garment of character." Education p.247, Ellen G. White

Everywhere and always God is with us, near to us and in us. But we are not always with Him; and because we do not remember Him, we allow ourselves many things which we would not permit if we did remember.
Take upon yourself this task--to make a habit of such recollection. Make yourself a rule always to be with the Lord, keeping your mind in your heart, and do not let your thoughts wander; as often as they stray, turn them back again and keep them at home in the closet of your heart, and delight in converse with the Lord. -----St. Theophan the Recluse

That one of my favorites too!
