I'm thinking of making a Christian Music Website with music lyrics, a forum, news, and other fun things. Would I need to get permission for the lyrics and news?

Galadriel Gal, that would be a HUGE undertaking. Yes, you would have to get a ton of copyright stuff and in my opinion it wouldn't be worth it. There are already seveal sites that offer christian lyrics and stuff like that. And CF has plenty of music forums to browse/chat in.

There are sites like http://www.musicrefuge.com/index.php that do that now. It would really be a lot of work to do that. There are so many Christian bands and each band has so many songs. Music Refuge had a good idea with having members submit the resources like news, reviews, lyrics, and tabs, but even then it's a lot of work for them in keeping things organized.

It would be a tiny site, but if I have to get copyright then that would be really hard. I already have some other sites I'm working on anyhoo.

I think it'd be a lot easier if you pick like a specific band or artist and focus the resources you post on them. So make more of a fan site rather than making a general Christian music site.

Ya, I agree with shinpai_ga_nai...

Focusing on one or two bands and getting all of their lyrics wouldn't be that bad.
