I have never been to Bible school, but am applying today to two ministerial positions - one for families and one for children. In my cover letter, I stated my denomination, how long, and that my beliefs are in alignment with the denominational statement of faith. I make brief reference to my commitment to growth in spiritual maturity.
My question is, what if I get called in for interviews? I have excellent [secular] qualifications in these areas, so I'm not concerned about interviewing. My thing is that I've never been for a Christian interview. What should I expect? If they do not offer to begin/end in prayer, is it acceptable if I suggest it? How much should I focus on my faith compared to my profession? Which one will they want to focus on?
Does anyone have any other tips?
