I've got real concerns about the "off-topic" rule. A key draw of this site for many of us is that it develops community. We not only talk about abstract theological topics and church news and scripture, but we also share concerns we have in our everyday lives, joys and pains, and so forth. And we talk about football and food and holidays and so forth. It's a lot like a pot-luck supper at a Church. Much of it is probably technically "off-topic", but it's a great community, and a lot of friendships and fellowshipping starts from that kernel of community.

What would you say about perhaps softening or clarifying that off-topic rule a bit?

Fish & Bread - off topic in a social way will not be a problem. It's the intentional derailment (which I think we all have a pretty good idea where the line is) that is the issue.

You know, like if in every post I complained about a presidenti or something.
