Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
I like the open reports threads, in fact the only thing I'd change would be that they not be anonymous anymore, which would also (I think) cut down on a lot of the spite reports.
tulc(just a suggestion)
However, it is and has happened. Thus I see there is a need to apply stricter guidelines on it if they are to remain public.
Suffice it to say this may not be the thread to "debate" this issue. Expressing a view and/or concern is not an open invitation for debate. With that being said, I am not going to post more on this topic at hand.
Ahhh! If it's Doc Erwin I have no problem with it.Are you sure that's who decides?

Aww, Steve. I can set us up with somebody if you'd like to try reconciliation.
I haven't posted there in a bit, drstevej. I don't intend to any time soon. It would be really great if you all would stop posting about me, though.
...someone who has 108 posts on CF is in charge?

Is this reconciliation?

I think the fact that this forum is in utter chaos and infighting is pretty good proof that you can have thousands of posts (ie. erwin) and be in charge and cause alot of conflict and confusion....someone who has 108 posts on CF is in charge?

My point is you do not have a history of neutrality. That is an issue of qualifications directly related to your position.
Steve
I hope private staff forums aren't permanent. One of the great changes Erwin made was removing the veil of secrecy. lets not take a step backwards in that department.
I'm disappointed that reports will be private again. I think it really helped people to see what mods do when working reports. Many of the concerns that lead to 777 in the first place had to do with secrecy, and the idea (mistaken or not) that staff did whatever we liked behind our closed doors. The openness has helped. I hate to think of us going back to the pre-777 animosity based on secrecy.
Steve has Lee had IIDB and ~E~lsewher explained to him and what it represents? That might be useful information for him.
I'd like that too...I do like the open threads. I do think, however, that I'll end up being outvoted.
I guess I'm in the minority that never really had a problem with them...then again Theology wasn't always a hothouse like Support and ET.
If you don't think I'm qualified, then take it up with Lee. That's not what this thread is for.

Number of posts mean nothing - in fact, maybe he did more reading than posting to analyze all the hotbeds around here.
Hopefully he can deal with some of it better than someone else did (who had many posts)
