Christian Division and impact on society

What part do Christians have for our country's spiritual crisis?

  • It's the fault of OTHER Christians, but not MY church.

  • All Christians are partly at fault for not uniting in spirit.

  • It's not the fault of ANY Christians. It's the fault of the Non-Christians.

It has been said that a house divided cannot stand. As a whole, Christianity in the United States represents a majority, yet the Christian values are quicky eroding whether it be in our laws or in social settings. Much of what is being accepted by America is contrary to scriptural teachings. What do you feel the reasons are? And what should be done about it?

A house dividing not standing is actually Scripture, I think Paul said it. Likewise Christ said it is by our love they will see Christ.

I was shown the value of unity working at a summer camp where there were a variety of backgrounds and churches represented that had to work together for the same goal. I am now raising support to work for a mission organization with a vistion to see the Body of Christ work together for the glory of His Nam among the nations.

It seems like the motto "if it feels good do it" has taken precedence over scripture. I think some of the reason it is happening is because alot of the values and morals people HAD are not being passed down through the generations the way they used to be. My grandfather used to tell me that divorce wasn't something people used to brag about, if a kid got out of line you punished him/her, getting pregnant out of wed-lock was hush-hush, and basically people believed in God,fought for the good of people and family actually spent time together. Where it all went wrong, your guess is as good as mine, but I would have to say it started going down hill when schools started telling kids to turn their parents in if they dont like how they are being disciplined, when people started putting more emphasis on name brand clothes than on education, when drugs became a recreation instead of "bad for you", basically when people decided to turn everything upside-down. It's like life is one big party, but sooner or later the party ends.

But of what power is Christianity to FUTURE generations if there is no effective Christian leadership that transcends demonations and is able to motivate peoples of various nominations to attempt to push CONCRETE, SPECIFIC agendas that will restore spiritual value to this nation? Is it a lost cause? Do we give up the hope? Or wait for REAL persecution to begin?

Christianity will probably become a thing of the past if things keep going the way they have been. There are so many "tolerant" so called religions that have no problem distorting the Bible to suit their beliefs, nobody will know which end is up.

The faith is actually growing stronger in a lot of places. It might be lukewarm where you are, but other places are boiling over with faith.

I read it, thank you. Now, after doing so, are christians to be passive or active? The ability of large numbers of future generations to come to an understanding of the truth are at stake.

Will 1,000,000 hear the truth in a decade? 10,000,000? 100,000,000? Or will they hear the New Gospel of 'if it feels right' don't confess for you are not in sin --- you were born that way??

If you equate Christianity to the church (the Bride) and I assume that you do, she will never be a thing of the past. She will always be a thing of the future. However if you look at Christianity as something headed up by man and that men can fix Christianity's ills then yes it will be athing of the past. Only Christ can redeem the Church and He is about to. Only Christ can unite His body and the stiching is commencing. There will not be unity until the glorious appearing.
