  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi brothers,

Did you guys know: that there is a new Christian music genre available in Europe since a few years, it is called Christian EDM (Electronic Dance Music). For example the latest CD made by DJ Flubbel: "Christian House". I keep hearing people who don't know of the existence of this genre, so I wonder if you people already know it, and what you think of it...

I would love to give you guys an example (by posting the trailer of the CD "Christian House" on Youtube), but I seem to be not aloud to post any links. (Youtube: watch?v=mNCuCncjks8). Other examples are: The Edge 1 & 2 or the albums of TonyFoxx.

There's a lot of great dance music out there by Christian artists. One cool artist is Andy Hunter (one of his songs appeared on the original Matrix movie trailer). Here's his song The Wonders of You:

Who is like the wonders the wonders the wonders of you?"

Now, here is Nostaliga. One of my favorite tracks by the guy known as Nostalgia is Bad Machine. The 2 albums I have by him are The Outlaster and The Other Side EP. Over on his Facebook page, he has more freebies to download as well as over on his Soundcloud site and his Beatport page

For some reason, every time I try to post the link for Nostalgia - Bad Machine it looks wonky, so I am just going to post the link for it as a hyperlink on the name and even when I try that, it still attempts to post it and the video. Grrrr :) Let me try this again and I will post Nostalgia on its own post

Hope those do help you. The main record company that was around back in the day that produced most, if not all, of Christian EDM was N-Soul Records and they are not around any more. Also, feel free to message me in my message box and if you cannot get any of the stuff I listed, the artists, I may be able to help you out with a nice variety of songs by them and can send you the link to get them. Most of the stuff I have is out of print and has been for many, many years.

N-Soul Records Website - not around anymore but its still up

Also, my friend who used to have a Christian Dance Music show at the local college station - that was years ago and started out as rock but then went to dance but he doesnt do it anymore, but he has a page called The Dance Chapel and I will link it here as well. He can give great recommendations as well. I do not think everything he listens to or posts on his blog is Christian but he can recommend more of the newer Christian stuff since I tend to listen to the much older stuff he introduced me too

Here is Nostalgia. He does a whole bunch of different styles and his discography of releases are extensive. Even though I do not like the group Imagine Dragons, he does a great remix of their song Radioactive. He is a Christian and a DJ but not all of his music speaks of his faith in Jesus Christ, but none of it has any foul language.

Also, below will be his Facebook, Soundcloud, and Beatport sites

What types of genres of EDM do you like? Hard House, Rave, Trance, Techno, DnB, Dubstep, etc etc etc. If I do come across more stuff that I have, I will post the artists names in the first post and will keep the list going for you. Now, some of these guys are hard to come across over on YouTube, so if there are any artists you are having a hard time finding, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Also, if you are interested in hearing what I have, I can create a sampler for you with my favorite songs from each artist I have listed and once its done, I can message you the link on the post or in your personal message inbox and that is if you are interested in hearing the stuff I have and that goes for the other poster on here as well that mentioned Andy Hunter. If you like Andy Hunter, check out Trip and Hydro - those are 2 other projects that Andy was involved in too :)

In Christ,

Eric

Not yet, but I will check them out. Here is a cool blog I found about the CEDM:

The last few years there seems to be a real explosion of new Christian dance music on the Internet. What once started as a small project in the Netherlands by pioneers (such as Tony Foxx and DJ Flubbel) is now becoming a more global phenomenon.

Beside the great many amount of releases of singles and albums internationally (with many artists like DJ Jireh, Maxem, Dash, Matthew Parker and Audile), recently two compilations series where released. The American organization called God’s DJ’s created the compilation series “The Future Sound of Worship” and in the Netherlands Rob van Rossum released “The Edge”. Both containing a broad selection of the finest Christian dance music available at the moment.

This development is also noticeable in the more regular Christian music scene. On many new worship/gospel albums there are electronic influences; and multiple dance remixes appear as bonus tracks (e.g. Newsboys, Hill Song, Casting Crowns.) Besides, there is a clear growth of the amount of DJ gigs/acts during several Christian festivals (e.g. the former Flavor Festival).

This new development did not go unnoticed by the media. For example in the Netherlands, the relatively new music genre was noticed on public radio (3FM), many digital blogs and in a national newspaper (ND).

It really makes me wonder, where this development is heading. What I really hope, is that many young souls will be reached with these awesome music and the positive message of the Gospel. Besides, I hope there will be many more good quality Christian electronic dance music to enjoy in the future. To all Christian producers, active fans and DJ’s I say: “Keep up the good work! And God bless you all!”

I'd post a link to Midiboy for you, but the site won't let me post links until I reach 50 posts or something like that. And though our names are similar, I am not Midiboy. lol

Oh, wow. That sounds very cool. Thanks for the info.
