For one thing, I oppose the thing where pastors go "say [whatever]!" and the whole crowd yells "[whatever]!"

I consider myself outside the norm for many reasons. One way I am outside the norm is that I think that Harry Potter isn't necessarily bad...i think that they are just books, but can be wrongly used. Just like marijahwana...however you spell it...it can be used in a good way or a bad way....

Another thing is I think that tattoos and earrings (on guys) are ok...I believe that God doesn't necessarily care what you look on the outside, but what your inner heart reveals. I also believe that tattoos can be a witness in itself to others and an expression of your decision to follow Christ.

I am outside the norm of "Southern Baptist Bible Belt" views. But if you are comparing me to most California residents, I could be pretty Conservative.

I challenge you to check our Dr. EuGene Scott (From University Network, LA, CA) They call him the "shock Jock" of TV EVANGELISM. Before His Death I was quite a fan of his. That makes me VERY counter-culture where I come from.

My mom calls me that all the time. I certainly don't dress like a lot of teens do, and my sense of humor is a little ... erm .... odd.

Guess I'd certainly fit in here...

Never did march to the same beat as the band. I'll still listen to secular music and for my age, what I listen to usually freaks out people in my age group (Rap/HipHop, Techno/Trance). I still love Science Fiction (reading/movies/TV). If I could find those pants with all the zippers and snaps and flared legs on them in my size, I'd wear 'em. My kids' friends think I'm cool.

In other words, I'm a Generation X-er stuck in a Boomer body.

Even from a religious standpoint I'm a bit odd. I agree with scripture. for instance, if it says something is wrong (ie. Homosexuality), I'll agree with that; however, it wouldn't keep me from having gay friends if they were willing. If I found out a friend was a 'call girl', I'd probably try to steer her away for safety reasons but I wouldn't stop being a friend either. I do believe it is fairly easy to hate the sin but love the sinner.

I also think that messianic worship is probably what God intended for his blended people.

Ironically, most of my closest Christian friends are very much like me, with similar interests and attitudes. So we counter-culture Christians are out there.

Actually I have found it a hard row to hoe, but it's who I am and I'm probably not going to change baring some catastrophic event.

If you can't take a little rejection or think for yourself go conform, but for me I refuse to be one of those people you turn out like biscuit dough.
