  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I hadn't heard of it at all, but I went to the link you posted and watched the trailer.

I'm not sure what to think.

Is it meant to make out christian children's camps as good things or bad things? I'm a little confused. The music that was used and the sound clips of that lady's voice tone seemed to give it a rather negative feel, but I could be totally wrong.

What have you heard about it, greggh?

Yeah, that was one of my first thoughts as well. I grew up in the Assemblies of God denomination and church was a huge thing every summer, but I don't recall ever hearing about a camp like this. in some aspects it would've probably appealed to me a lot more than big-ball kickball and volleyball. :D
(never have been much into sports...)
But like I said before, the clips shown in the trailer made it sound like this keep-your-children-and-loved-ones-away-from-christian-camps-period. and if this camp was mostly about getting children and young people excited about Jesus and teaching them to pray and whatnot, I don't think that's a bad thing. But if it was one of those camps that teach about "Jesus" and is really just some extremist group that's fallen off of a little place I like to call reality, then yeah...

Wow...the discussion board you linked to was...um...interesting.

As were some of the YouTube clips they linked to.

Sometimes you just don't realize what humans are doing or thinking. *shrug*
