I just stumbled across this website today. It's like Catholic Answers, but a protestant version. It makes me sad to think how many people they will lead away from the Church with their misunderstandings... here's an excerpt from their section on Catholicism (http://www.christiananswers.net/evangelism/beliefs/catholicism.html):

The Protestant Reformation restored to the body of Christ the doctrine of sola scriptura ("Scripture alone"). The Roman Catholic faith has shown a willingness to raise the pope above Jesus Christ and the Bible by giving him the right to nullify Scripture through papal decrees. The conscience of the biblical Protestant (like that of Martin Luther) is bound by the Bible alone. "The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and life." It cannot be both ways. The traditions of the churches are often of value. But these traditions must always be subordinate to, and constantly corrected by, the Scriptures, which alone are the Word of God.


We need to pray for all who unknowingly come across this website...

This is very interesting. I especially enjoyed reading the article on Pope John Paul II and evolution. Anyway, I don't agree with everything on that website, as we Protestants tend to have our own schisms and disagreements.

And I do agree that many things they are saying about Catholicism are incorrect.

Ah yes! When I was a Fundamentalist, I used to visit that site all the time. It is unfortunate some of the mistruths they present there. Some of the things that they talk about are only half-truths as well. And yes, we do indeed need to pray for anyone who comes across this site.

This site and the others linked to it as part of their "ministry" are very anti-Catholic. It's shallow and transparent. Uninformed Catholics and Protestants could be easily sucked into their views.

I just posted a little response on their "contact us" link, keeping it anonimous, but asking them nicely to research their facts and stop publishing blatant untruths...

Not that it'll do much, but maybe they'll know that Catholics out there are concerned about the lies...

I also contacted them and told them to stop spreading lies about what the Catholic church teaches by taking bits and pieces out of the Catechism and making it say what they want it to say...grrr..it makes me so angry..lies like what they spread is what kept me in protestantism for 12 yrs and made my life much harder! arghhh!
