Christian alternatives?

I must confess I'm a bit intimidated by the sheer number of forums here so it is quite possible this is not the right place to post this, but hey, i'll give it a shot.

I have a friend who i recently discovered has quite the collection of death metal music- disturbed, mushroomhead, etc. I told her she should get rid of said music on the grounds that the majority of it is at the very least depressing, if not completely ungodly (profanity, violence, sex, etc.). I told her i'd find some christian alternatives to make it a bit easier to "give up" what is evidently a large quanitity of these cds, but she says that none of them will sound the same...


I'm not much into that type of music but I'm sure there are christian alternatives, and I was hoping someone here might be able to give me a name or two that sounds anything like the bands mentioned above.

I'm hoping someone out there can help me- and thanks in advance

those are not death metal, its more like nu-metal....but some good christian metal bands are:

yeah I would say the best christian nu-metal alternative would be demon hunter. As I Lay Dying is getting pretty popular so perhaps she may like them. Some people like a band called staple as well..perhaps you can check them out.

LOL. I use a pillar CD in my CD clock alarm.... cause it's so darn loud and in your face, it wakes me up immediately. (I don't typically listen to stuff like that.)

Thanks everyone for the names, and Charvel, I completely understand what you mean. She isn't too heavily into the stuff, I just suggested that if she needed to listen to something like that she should at least try for something more uplifting--

that being said I found Demon Hunter while i waited for the responses to come in, and have suggested it to her. I've even considered picking up a CD for myself. Go figure
