pssst... it's always the anabaptists who teach these strange things

LOL, if you get me started on that one, I'll get into trouble for sure!

If you can't say somethin' nice (about the anabaptists) ...

I can't remember who did the final version, we sort of passed it around.

Theologia Crucis, Breetai, and I all had a hand in it.

It's Luther's rose.

The Orthodox aren't the only ones who have a meaning behind everything.

The Prot that I know does not believe the trinity separated. He thinks of it like a married couple who is still married but separates. They are together but they have separated.

This should serve to show the error with sola scripture, -people thinking they can believe what ever they choose to based on what they think scripture means.

For non-confessionals, yes.

Most likely the guy just misunderstands what his church teaches. That happens as often with Protestants as it does with Catholics

He is Southern Baptist Convention and he let his pastor know what he believes and his pastor said, as long salvation isn’t outside Christ you are free to believe that. He agrees on the essentials so it is all good. There is no authority who can tell him he is wrong.

too bad we don't burn them anymore...
I know this statement was made in jest, but please be careful what you say. My uncle's wife is part of a mennonite community and he is now a pastor of a mennonite church. My aunt's ancestors were some of those people who were burned and executed by Lutherans in Germany because they believed so strongly in pacifism. The wounds from those experiences still run deep, so please be careful. God bless!

Patristic, if my previous comment was offensive, please forgive me. A long time ago I had the privilege of visiting Pennsylvania and meeting some Mennonites, and they were delightful people. The Peace of Christ be with you, and with your aunt and her family.

First: No matter how misguided they were, BURNING was wrong.

Second: To my knowlege, the Orthodox Church never burned any Anabaptists.....so what are you refering to when you say "WE"?
It was a joke my dear sir. I appologize if I offended anyone.

I know the Orthodox never burnt them, but I was responding to Shelb5 and Catholics did burn Anabaptists. I do not support doing so, it was a black mark on both Lutheran and Catholic history, though some certianly did deserve the death sentence.

Perhaps it was in bad taste, I didn't think that people's memories were that long.
