As a christian, we must make a choice about which peace do we want. Do we want the peace of God that lives in our minds or do we want a gun or a knife that we can use to defend ourselves when our lives are threatened? In our lesson, Jesus said taht the peacemakerwould be called the children of God. Why did he say taht? Cecause if youare a chkld of God, you will love the things of God. Peace is on thing taht God loves to give to Hid children. When we hve peace in our minds and hearts, our lives will be blessed.
Let's take a look at two girls wh possessed God' s peace in their lives. Trina and Stacy's families moved from a small country town into a large city. They were use to the simple things in life, but now they were faced with new challenges. They enrolled in a new school and on the first day, they prayed and tried to adjust to their new teachers and their new classmates. Trina and Stacy loved to pray and talk about Jesus. However, one day a gang of girls started to mess with Trina and Stacey. They wanted them to join a street gang, but the girls refused to do it. The next day they asked them agin, but this time they pulled out a gun and some knives to force them to join their gang. Trina and Stacy were surrounded and they were afraid, but they fell on their knees and began to pray loud unto God. Whey got louder and louder until the other girls ran away. God delivered Trina and and Stacy because they trusted in him. They depended upon the peace of God to help them when they were in trougle. Which peace/piece do you want? God's peace or their piece?
