  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was raised in church but never really knew the Lord though I attended regularly. During my late teens and early 20s I was pretty fed up of Christianity (or rather what I thought was Christianity) and became interested in the New Age Movement. As I look back I thank God He stopped me from going too far into it as I now realise it is one of satan's greatest deceptions - but I digress. When I was 21 I met a girl who was a born again Christian and she introduced me to her friends. One day they invited me to a revival crusade in the local town hall. I went along just to please them and because I had nothing better to do not realising it would change my life! I can't remember much of what the speaker said but I do remember him telling us how we could ask Jesus Christ into our hearts and I knew I wanted that so as soon as he gave the call to come forward I went. It is something I have never regretted and while I have let the Lord down many times He has never let me down. It hasn't been easy being a Christian but it is certainly worth it. If there is anyone here who is wondering whether or not to become a Christian I would advise them to go ahead as He is there waiting for you to turn from your sins (and we all have them) and turn to Him for forgiveness and salvation as He is not willing that anyone go to Hell.
