Why can't you go to church? Seems like you would make friends there. You would be a great addition to a ladies circle or a prayer team.

I understand loneliness. I don't feel it's sting anymore but that's just because I gave up. I've learned to entertain myself with myself... My social status hasn't changed but I have. (about 11-12 years ago I think something drastically changed inside of me and I stopped longing for friends and family)-- Now, social things make me really uncomfortable... I'd rather be alone... I can socialize at work but that has purpose and it's not long term.

I find I have adjusted to isolation too...had too. I get enough people "for me"...I just cannot be in a group setting very long...physical needs and problems ore controlling my life. But, I do have a life anyway.

I still think you need a coffee friend or something.

I'm ashamed to say I have been at work and don't know about this... when did it happen??? last night or today.

I got this news yesterday [March 3rd]...
so those photos were fresh out of the camera
details for March 2nd and 3rd 2012

Posted March 3, 2012 [ Lexington Herald Leader ]

Death toll rises to 19; at least 300 injured in Friday's storm
The number of deaths from a wave of violent weather that struck Kentucky Friday climbed steadily Saturday, totaling 19 fatalities and an estimated 300 injured. The number of deaths changed frequently in some of the hardest hit areas, but the number sat at 19 as of 12:20 a.m., according to reports from state and local officials. Those numbers have been climbing since late Friday, as officials have collected reports from various counties that were hammered with severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail and torrential rains.

Yea, I found it last night... awful.. there were charts... 2011 was up in the top five horrific storm years in the us in almost 150 years... however, seems like we had a 60 year reprieve from really severe weather... the late 1800'sup to around 1940 were bad as well. builders have stopped putting basements in homes... I wonder if that has anything to do with the death rate???? just thinking???

When I see trucks and cars looking like crumpled tin foil...I can see, the human body will not have a chance of survival if caught in these storms.

Oh yes! if your house falls onto a concrete basement [while you are in it]
You are not going to be CRUSHED [or, blown away]

I see the 'REASON' behind such 'flimsy homes' being built
as being due to.... LOCATION & COST
iow: 'distance' from building-material suppliers & lowest of outlays ~for initial build

Sadly, this will, without doubt
leave many families 'vulnerable' to known extreme-weather conditions

COMMON SENSE, provides information, regarding
the suitability of, design and construction methods [needs] in such areas

Building Regulations _ in such areas, ought to impose upon builders
the requirement to provide places of safety within or below, EVERY HOME

Seems sensible to have a place of safety (underground), even an alternate (underground) place to sleep when eminent storms are present.. If I had a basement (and I don't) I would want a bed in it so that if there were threat of dangerous storms, I could just cuddle up in my storm shelter complete with alarm clock and sleep until time to go to work. I think many die because of the cheaply made homes that do not contain basements...

Yes, it is hard to imagine... so few have the time or the resources to assist... It's a sure bet that builders and scavengers will be there to take advantage...
That happened in the Joplin storms last year... so called contractors took the well meaning insurance checks of suffering people and left town.

Had a weird day...it was very quiet here...now I must get used to not having the remodel noise for hours going on...LOL...we are waiting for some fixtures to come in...to really complete the job. Can't compare to people losing everything in a tornado.

The price of peanut butter has gone up $4.oo since last winter...

How does someone like myself always end up in such a world wind of political pressure.
work for walgreens... changes, cuts, craziness
part time for avon... district changes/realignment... district managers are stabbing each other in the back.... new district manager feuds with old district manager... old district manager hires me to be her assistant... drama drama.... I don't want the drama... I just want a few extra bucks....
