She has never liked being bathed, and our groomer has the patience of a saint!
I have no clue what we will do if she ever stops.....I can't even bear to think about it
Penny loves her...but hates the process.
Here is a friendly smile...

Have you ever tried grooming her yourself? It really is not that hard, just need to get the correct tools. But, if your allergies cannot take it, Penny will need to go out.

We have the contractor is here with estimates for the bathroom...to be honest, I am getting cold feet about doing anything right now...the sewer experience was not so great. Felt like we got financially "raped".

I know what you are saying... Just bothers me because I have both christian friends and work related friends on there.. then my family pops in... lol
Those two girls were both abandoned.. I mean.. he hid from them and their mothers because He didn't want to pay child support. he left one mother for the other, and then dated the first one behind the second ones back.. things got really screwed up... and then a few years after he left, their older sister was hit by a car and killed...I do feel sorry for them but they are in their 30's now. time to move on.

@Birdie

I am sorry... I haven't played 'crabby' for many years

I do know
just how easy it can be, to fall foul of.... 'looking inwardly' [?]
dark, dank, uncomfortable, cold, lonely, unloved and, so so sad
Full of self-pity, and envy for others that seem to, just cruise their days in fun and games

Then I learned to 'crack the windows' in my my four walls
and to look upon everything 'else'
that the Lord has made available via, the internet window

We are, all of us 'individuals'

I too had extended-family, in my friend's list at FB
and their 'tongues' were unguarded
and some obscene stuff, would regularly appear on my public pages

So, I gave them 'notice'
that I would 'pull the flush' on our connections, if they did not desist_

I took some very non-verbal 'dissent' [by return messages]
"Family is Family"
"You have no-right to ignore Family"
"We will never speak to you again"

They KNOW... right, from wrong and 'chose' to continue to enjoy, wrongdoing

I told them that we, [they and I] are, walking 'different paths'
and that unless they changed-direction, then, we might not meet up again

I deleted seven Family members [cousins, nephews, nieces]
and consequently ALSO, their MANY FRIENDS
from making appearances upon my pages
Nowadays.... My Facebook Pages are graced with Christians and good Family

Just a small step, in the right-direction, is noticeably more-comfortable
Our own appreciation of that 'comfort' ...is encouragement
to take, further, small steps in a similar manner

Spring-Cleaning of drab and obnoxious 'clutter'
can do so-much, to brighten our days and make them worthwhile
and become a real-pleasure to awaken-to, each morning

God will seperate the goats from His sheep ?

Choose your direction Birdie29, and break out from, those 'shadows'
Walking in the light, is just so much more-rewarding [refreshing]

Their story is heart wrenching...but I do believe the country is full of this kind of behaviour...we are a mess morally for sure. My grandson has friends who are children of divorced parents...they are just really struggling in life, even before their teens.

Shih Tzus are hypoallergenic and they don't shed so that is not an issue
She just doesn't like being groomed, regardless of who does it....so it is easier on us if THEY do it.
Even when we brush her if she gets a mat, it is exhausting keeping her in place
We have tried treats ...you name it ....shih tzus are an independent and willful breed

Sorry about your situation....we have been there before for roofing, and painting etc

We have had very mixed experiences with contractors...some very good, some seem like blue colar criminals.

Poms are independant too...I sort of taught Gracie how to be groomed, she hated it when she first came...but does go through the process pretty well now; she dotes on attention and grooming is concentrated attention.

"Daylight Robbery" is not unknown in the World's 'Race For Cash'

It is indeed a great pity.. that you do not 'live', down the road from me
I have much personal experience
in making 'bathroom dreams' become 'fact'
and while today
I could not go, lifting, bath tubs ....
I could still manage, all other aspects ~electrics, plumbing and tiling

Such a shame that you are not/ could not be, competent DIYers
~for then, you would need, to contract the connections-only

When we were younger Dave, we did nearly all the upgrades ourselves...but as you say...lifting and other heavy work is really hard now...I think this is part of our problem...we know how to do so much, but do not have the muscle to do it anymore.

I have an idea that you might wish to consider [?]

# could you construct 'a wet-room'

A self-draining [water-proof] floor surface ...[resin or, textured tiles]
'walk-in' shower-area
and ceramic-tile to the 5 foot level

Thoughts are, because, climbing in and out of a tub
is, going to become more and more difficult

We are not permitted to do that in this property...
or else, we would have one of those, already

I know what you talking about, I saw them in Japan...but I need the tub to soak for mites...I soak in enzymes. We will install a grab rail, as you are correct, getting in and out of the tub gets harder to do.

WE have a very nice , large shower in the master bedroom bath...no tub there. I think Americans really want a tub still.

Gracie had 2 hours of grooming time...about 1/2 hour was the drying portion...we are needing a nap...the 2 of us.
The groomer does it in 90 min....if you took 2 hours.....she can keep the job

You got me laughing Gail...maybe I am slow...I comb her out before the bath...then the bath, then drying time...then another thorough combing...I do have short sitting, rest for both of us. We each took a 2 hour nap to compinsate.

It's hard to say....Penny gets a full body puppy cut , trimmed around the eyes, nails cut, and inside ears done.....as well as the comb out , shampoo and drying.
Too much for me thanks

I've ALWAYS wondered why home bathrooms were not built like public facilities with a drain in the middle of the floor... seems like they would be sooooo much easier to clean too... Just hose it down..... I'd like to have one of those sit down showers when I get too old to stand in a shower....
Anglewind... I do understand your situation with the mites... pesky little critters aren't they?

ladies, I'll cut your dogs' hair and give them a bath... should talk me around 15 minutes a each... I'll just shave them with the sheep sheers and hose em down... that'll work right??? .. I haven't had a dog in a long time but they were usually short haired, large, and lived in the garage. I hear it's illegal to treat a dog like that these days.... lol, however my dogs seemed happy.. we went playing in the woods together... he(they) chased rabbits, walked in the creek... barked down skunk holes. and teased cows and goats.. hey!!! maybe your dogs want to come. hugh??

Hi Connie

I guess,
that when...we all of us...speak from the heart [?]
that ALL OF US... will...
write SOMETHING with relevance to another ~today /tomorrow

Because the matters I read of here_are remote and... belong, to others
I can handle their information dispassionately [unemotionally]
We, are the sum of our experience and more/less everybody we have ever met

In this we are ALL of us 'unique' _in terms of a graphic [?]
we have one or more, of more-than 63 million colours

As our 'retained knowledge' and 'personal experience-archive' varies
one to another [even within families]
so too, will our ability_ to handle / determine 'situations', in a similar way

Wisdom
is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations,
resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgements and actions
in keeping with this understanding.
It often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions")
so that universal principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions.
Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true or right
coupled with optimum judgment as to action.

Synonyms include: sagacity, discernment, or insight.

I dont have everyone's answers in my head

But, in the event, that I suspect
I may have a useful contribution to make
I will commit it to writing and put it out there

I may be holding the PIECE that completes someone's Jigsaw

We may each of us be only a droplet
...but together we can form an ocean

If what I say, doesn't fit your circumstances, then the 'next reader'
may find, it has removed some cobwebs from their view

You take care

dave
