Meet "Buddy"

They are about to be covered for the night
We do, leave a light on in the room overnight [EVERY NIGHT]
So, to prevent 'night-fright injuries'
The cover, prevents draughts and enables them to rest their eyes
but provides sufficient indirect-lighting for them to see their perches

Hi Gail
We have found those perches to be okay for budgerigars
but are really of, too-small a diameter for the cockatiels
and so we have given them sawn pieces of Cherry and Plum branches
Which they appear to favour

Buddy may well be too old to accept becoming 'finger tame'

Maybe we can tempt him sometime to come to the hand for treats
but we will have-to be patient
He isn't by any-means a 'chick' and may well have been pre-owned
He has been making a call that sounds like a squeaky toy LOL

we will 'try' to get a 'recording'

The tan perches are perfect for Rudy; better than the standard wood that gave my deceased Sunny a mite infection

He is imitating wild bird notes and adding them to his song

Well, my mother passed away Sunday afternoon. We were waiting to arrange hospice and the nurse came out and said she was gone. I had just seen her a few minutes prior to that. It came faster than we thought.

I don't think anything prepares you for the loss of your MOM. I know it was very hard on me when my mom passed suddenly in 2001. Even though i knew she was with the Lord and free from the effects of her stroke and able now to move freely and rejoice in Heaven it was a shock and awful not being able to connect with her like I always did once a week by phone. (I lived quite far away and could only visit two or three times a year.) May you know the strength and comfort of the Lord Jesus at this time Kay.

KayKay Sis'

(((((HUG)))))

Moms are 'special' and always have been
We are grown inside them and, their loving care,
nurtured the development of our own unique personality
They gave us so-much of themselves
and, who can deny that SHE, lives on... in each of us

My Mum, she did me proud
A woman of diminuitive stature, with a BIG BIG 'heart'
She gifted me, with so much-more than, her genes
She taught me, to 'sew', to 'knit', to 'crochet', to 'cook'
to 'read' and to 'spell' phonetically.......

Her final year in the world was very hard on her
at first, in reducing her ability to remain independant
which saddened her
and then... making her totally dependant upon her children
There was nothing that I wouldn't do for her
I must also, acknowledge, the devotions of my ex wife
for her part, in our caring for my Mum's needs
For she, made a difficult situation, so-much easier for us all

Mum, passed peacefully in hospital, where
she had spent her last four days, totally unresponsive
She had so much wanted to "be with your Father again"
Love you Mum

It is Saturday here also @1.35 pm

We awoke to a terrific downpour this-morning
it sounded like a school, full of kids drumming their fingers on their desks simultaneously

Looking out of the bedroom window... the kerbstones at the edge of the sidewalks
just couldn't be seen, for the splashback from the the pavement in our cul-de-sac

It ceased after an hour and we now have blue skies and bright sunshine
but it isnt very warm outside.... ~feels like autumn is around the corner

I signed-in, to the car-insurers website this morning ~after several failed-attempts, to do so

While searching to find a renewal option
the closest to this was the word Change
which turns out, to have caused a procedural error that cannot be resolved
~not in the same day.... and, as they do not do business on Sundays
I must now wait, until Monday morning, to make my payment

Oh well, maybe this was meant to happen, and cause me to travel to Bristol on Monday instead
I will 'go, with the-flow' ....He knows what is good for me

I hope you all have a Brilliant weekend and that those in Irene's path
are spared total disaster /loss

It is just nice to be here again and read light chatter...we ate our breakfast out this morning...I enjoyed multigrain pancakes with blueberries for the topping and hot tea. I don't usually eat pancakes so these were a treat...they also had small pieces of almonds and walnuts in the batter. I ate them all...

Thanks so much leytonstones...I was here last saturday...this is a view of a small estuary just So of Morro Bay, Ca. This serves as a bird sanctuary too...we were walking in the Elfin Forest.

This pond is very near my son's home in Paso Robles...we walk there often.
