  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Happy New Year to everyone. Dave, I'm glad Mary enjoyed her Christmas present, especially after your Christmas Eve frustrations. Looks like it was worth the wait! My son and daughter had the frustration a few days before Christmas of finding out that some of the things they were ordering wouldn't come until after Christmas. I just told them Christmas is not about the gifts, but about THE Gift

Nothing out of the ordinary here today. Just a lot of phone calls. Was in the house all day until 5.30 when I had to go out to collect a prescription and buy some things from the supermarket.

I need my friends and family to continue to feel comfortable 'in my presence'
For sure, there can be communication-problems, with regional 'differences' with language-usage
and, a little 'give and take' makes a huge contribution to that comfort-level



No, no-excuses.... my finger did, HIT the key next door, and it altered the meaning of my sentence
ie: last thing at night (morning) with a shut down and 'bed', was absolutely-imminent
It would have taken but a few moments to proof read before posting and to look back at the posted reply
and do 'a quick edit', so to avoid, an International Incident
and the intervention of the Diplomatic Corps

If you only knew how often I have had to edit the next day.....and even immediately after posting

Hey Good morning!
Listening to Herb Albert and Tijuana Brass this morning on youtube.
Takes me to a better place, when I was a little girl with Mama and
John at home living in the moment when all the turmoil of life just
slipped away. Little did I know what she was going through at the
time.

My friend died Tuesday, about the same age as Mama when she died.
I hope they find each other through the bond I shared with them
both!

Good morning! I had a wonderful time yesterday despite being snowed in. I was
ready to go to work when the snow hit, so I had to change my plan for the day. I
called my neighbor, we visited for about two hours, came home, watched "Despicable
Me", took a nap and then went back over to my neighbors for supper. I had an
awesome day!
