  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So I was wondering if anybody has had experience working in Children's theatre - more specifically Christian Children's Theatre?

Inspiration hit me today, and I'm considering trying to form a project (which at this stage is secret) - but would like to hear the pros and cons first.

SO: have you? Would you do it again?
Or if you haven't: would you try it, and why?

Godspeed,
- Th3o

I personally haven't, but I work closely with others who do, and I've also had my son in shows with me (he was 6-7 years old).

A lot of it depends on what age group you're dealing with. If it's little-little kids, say kindergarten age, then it's probably more an issue of the parents wanting to see their adorable little munchkin on a stage for photo ops. The kids may or may not want to do it, and they or may not be able to do it. A shy, quiet, terrified little kid shouldn't be pushed into getting on stage if they don't want to - at least that's JMHO. Now, sometimes, a little kid will already have the passion and the willingness, and I say let them go for it!

Now, older kids, say 3rd grade and up, can really decide if they want to do it; and you as their coach will be able to tell if they've actually got some acting/singing chops or not. I think working with a group this age would be awesome.
