  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mine starts tonight (it was supposed to start last Wednesday but it was cancelled due to a big snow storm)

Has anyone else taken one? Is anyone else currently taking one?

I guess I opened this for discussion on what the classes are and what they teach. I am a little nervous about going. I think only because that means I am that much closer to having my little man. And that is the part that scares me the most.

ME too!

Mine goes from 6:30PM to 9:00PM every wednesday for 5 weeks, and then its another half hour drive home afterward.

I am going to be very crabby tomorrow!

Red, we are in same boat except your class starts 30 min earlier and I have 30 more minutes of driving home. Is your husband coming with you? And out of curiousity, how much are your classes. Mine costs 80 bucks for five sessions...not too bad, I guess.

LOL! I sure hope not!

Yes my hubby is going with me, we have two pillows (With fresh pillow cases on them) and our birthing binder!

Ours was $50 or $60. But I also signed up for a breastfeeding class in June and that one was like $15.00 so I dont really remember how much the birthing class was alone.

My hubby and I are taking a weekend class, two days, in the beginning of July. I know that is a long ways away, but I am excited to take them! A little nervous, too. I'm afraid that my hubby is going to get freaked out and decide he can't handle being in the room...we'll see!

Red and Beth, let us know what you think of your classes! I'm curious to know what they are like! :)

You are so lucky being able to go in an evening.
The classes that i am going to run for 4 weeks. they are from 9.45-11.15am and then i have to go to work for the afternoon :( and they are only for me to attend. No idea what is going to happen in them.

Then i have a day thing with my h at the hospital from 9.30am - 4.30pm - that covers birth and a tour of the hospital.
Then i have opted to also go on a waterbirth workshop day with H from 9.30am - 1.30pm.
Both of those they managed to give us on a Sat

We don't have to pay for any of ours.

Well the first night of classes was interesting.

It was nice to be around other preggos and their husbands, but it was strange all at the same time! :)

We learned some relaxation techniques and the signs of early labor.

The instructor creeps my hubby out though, because she is older (by a lot) and she was talking about the S word. He says that just made him want to giggle like a school boy.

I can just imagine what this birth is going to be like. :(
