How exactly has Chicago flipped red, except for some people wearing t-shirts with that message printed on it?

In 2020 15 majority black wards went over 90% for the Democratic party.

This election was only 7.

In Chicago itself overall, Trump increased voter turnout for the Republicans by 10% this year over 2016.

Couple this with the city council meetings being pretty outspoken against the new mayor and there's a definite needle that's moving in Chicago that seems to be driven specifically by illegal immigration and city expenditure towards them, instead of citizens.

While "flipping Chicago red" is just hyperbole now, I'm going to say that when the next election for Mayor occurs the Democrats will have a difficult time if they run Johnson again

The next election for Mayor in Chicago is planned for 2027. I predict that at that time, people in Chicago will be so sick of Trump that they'd vote for a bag of potatos, as long as it's blue and has Democrat written on it.

I would hold off on positing that they're "turning red". Don't count chickens before they hatch.

They may be going from deep blue to a having a hint of purple in there.

I would suspect if they are dissatisfied, it won't be a flip to a republican, it'll be more like what was seen in NYC, where they switch from a more progressive democrat, over to a more moderate "law & order" Democrat.

I'd take a guess and suggest that they'll probably get their own version of Eric Adams over there in Chi-town.
