  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm looking for a Chartreux kitten for my sister's family. Anyone know of a Chartreux breeder?

(They're sweet cats, with blue-grey fur and copper eyes.)

Hi Wildwood,

Does your sister have to have a purebred? There are lots of great cats in animal shelters and at the humane society that need homes. As the ads say, don't buy breeds while shelter animals die.

But to answer your question, I'd suggest you look at the cat fanciers assn website for the info you're looking for: cfa.org. The page for breeder referrals has a lot of good info that might be useful before you start checking for breeders too. Good luck!

If she simply must have a Chartreux, go to petfinder.com and search by breed and age. There aren't very many (only 21 total listed at the moment) but if she is truly dedicated to the breed I would hope that she would want to be patient and rescue one. Again, this goes to prove that even an obscure breed is not at all exempt from being abandoned in an animal shelter.

Don't breed or buy, while animals die.
