Any hospital or VA chaplains out there? What is it like? How is it different from being a pastor?

for this, if you're looking for military chaplains, I'd call the head office of your denomination (google this) and call their chaplain office.

It is different that you may have to comfort a Hindu with human kindness and not scriptural reference. you would have to have to poses enough knowledge and have enough training in other religious faiths that you are able to minister to them. Meaning that as a chaplain your job would not allow you to proselytize people to the Christian faith. A master's degree is usually required.
