Southern Democrats most supportive of slavery and opposed to civil rights were:

[ ] LIberal and/or progressive

[ ] Conservative, especially socially conservative

Sorry, but twisting facts by the exclusion of other facts that don't fit the narrative is still historical revisionism.

Oh, and MLK wasn't a Republican.

Wait, you mean that you know what's better for African-American voters then they know for themselves? And your proof for that is "They aren't Republicans and I think they should be, so they've been fooled!"?
tulc(doesn't think that sounds very likely)

He doesn't need me to teach him history. He has always known the history and that's why he votes Democrat.

"Truth" is what everyone believes it to be. Nobody wants to read your right wing, rewriting of history articles.

Uh, they have acted in their best interest. For example, you may have noticed one large swath of their constituency just gained the right to marry.
Just because they noticed a growing special interest group who they could (brilliantly) con into voting for them, doesn't mean they really give a hoot about them. Besides, they didn't do them any favors. God set the terms of marriage, and where they may have gained some favor with the democrats, they lost it with God.

If he doesn't want to hear it from the National Black Republicans group...that's his choice. But they are quoting history, and I am quoting them.

Ahhh! I see. so you just sort of post things and have no real responsibility for anything you post? Because that does seem to be the usual Republican response: "we're the Party of personal responsibility except, well, it's always someone else's fault, not, mine.".
tulc(still waiting to see if there was going to be an answer to his question about how many African-American Republicans there are compared to Democrats)

More like the past 5 years...when they figured out they could be USED to win elections.
1964 for more than 5 years ago.

I think they are much more pleased with being able to be married than they are dismayed with what your opinion of god's opinion of them is.

Apparently, you think you discovered some great secret....one that politicians have known and used from the beginning?

That's odd, I didn't realize God was registered to vote in the United States.

Here are the facts...you should take the test:

HistoryTest
BLACK POLITICAL HISTORY: THE UNTOLD STORY
NOTE: All answers are "b."
1. What Party was founded as the anti-slavery Party and fought to free blacks from slavery?
[ ] a. Democratic Party
[ ] b. Republican Party
2. What was the Party of Abraham Lincoln who signed the emancipation proclamation that resulted in the Juneteenth celebrations that occur in black communities today?
[ ] a. Democratic Party
[ ] b. Republican Party
You call this an untold story? In what world? Most people in the U.S. have completed elementary school, last time I checked...

Republicans don't want your vote. They don't care about your vote. They just exist to help y... err, to protect your liberty to do whatever you want to others, provided you have the money and the power to do so.

As long as "do whatever you want to others" doesn't involve anything they find distasteful.
