I'm submitting a challenge to all you 30 somethings!

Are you struggling with your weight or just trying to motivate yourself to exercise more?

Here's how our challenge is going to work. We are starting in Nashville, TN and trying to get to New York city in time to see the dropping of the New Year's Eve ball.

We need to walk 939.5 miles. So keep track of how many miles you've walked, jogged, etc. Any exercise which calculates mileage counts!

Post how many miles you achieved for the day, add to the previous total and then post the new total. Always round your miles to the nearest half mile - just makes adding easier.

Here is kilometer/mile converter. http://www.runnersweb.com/running/km_miles.html

Good luck! Let's see if we can get to New York by December 31!

I like this idea! After the ball drops we could just start a trip aound the country.

Does anyone know how to convert number of steps (from my step counter) to miles? Otherwise, arthritis keeps me from going walking sometimes, but maybe I could count bike miles instead.

Sorry, I don't know how to covert steps to miles but your miles biked can definitely count.

I am SO glad we moved away from colder areas to Central Cali!!! It was a chilly 72 today!! ^_^

Ok I will take this, because I do need to do some exercising like SOON. So I'll start today.

Hmm, our step counter includes a converter. After we "trained" it to our step length (walk a measured distance, then it knows your steps/distance) now it just says how far we've walked. Incidentally, wear it all day some time rather than just for the exercise walk. I was very surprised by how far I walk just on a normal daily basis!

;) Yes, but your 0 added to our 10 makes

10!

I just bought a new one at Wal*Mart for $3.88. Doesn't do anything fancy but it does record steps and miles which is what I want to know.
