This dork is challenging Christians to test their faith. In this situation is it best for me to say something or should I just pray for him?

I would stay aware from this. I reconize the name of the person, Ghoulslime. Just out of curiosity, I jumped around a couple of athiest forums just to see their side of things. I never posted, just read. That name was on a site called Raving Athiest or something like that. What he says about christians is horrible. I always wondered if he truly acted like that in person or just showing off with words on a computer.

That does look like an interesting site. I doubt I'll understand it though.

this site takes everything in scripture literally (as far as i understood it).

i don't believe we can take scripture literally though.
i also believe that scripture also contains elements from the cultural, societal and historical background it was written in. and we have to seriously consider all this.

but still i believe that studying the old and new testament will bring insight on "what" is God and what we are supposed to "do" with Him.

if we get answers to these questions then we will be able to go further on and experience God-Christ in our lives.

the "Christ experience" is a mystical experience that only the ones who have felt it within their bodies and souls can talk about it.
an atheist or someone who doubts God or Christianity can not accurately discuss on this topic.

It's a dumb site that sounds like it was written by a 12 year old. There's nothing new or original at all. He asks dumb questions like, why do Christians need health insurance and why can't we pray an amputee's legs back?. If you're a Christian and you're swayed by that site, you need to do a gut check.

People like this merely want attention. Don't give it to them. Just pray for them.

"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." - Matthew 7:6

I didn't think it was completely dumb. It did have some interesting points that kinda make you wonder....

Like does God really think slavery is ok? and if so then don't you think that's kinda twisted?

And I've always thought the bible was a big sexist...especially torwards women.

Oh well...I don't know what to believe anymore.

The best way to answer that document, I think, is to see that the writer avoided all of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. He referred to lots of other teachings, including those given by Moses and Paul and others. But I follow Jesus. I follow Moses or Paul only when obedience to teachings of Moses or Paul do not violate those of Jesus.

And God does not desire me to follow the Law of Moses, because I am born again, born of God not man, and no longer one of the children of Israel (descended from the man named Israel). In all of the Law of Moses it is repeatedly written that those laws apply only between God and the children of Israel. See Exodus 6:4-6.

And God has quoted into Scripture things Paul has said that were of Paul, and not of God. See 1 Corinthians 7:12.

Who makes slaves? God or people? People do.

You're right. People make them.

God condones the practice.

It should further be noted that Christ did not admonish slavery practices, as he similarly did not retract policies on homosexuals, eating pork, and numerous other things in the Old Testament.

Why do we no longer practice this? Why is slavery condemned as a horrible wicked practice?

On the other side of the token... why do many christians eat pork? Why are there any christian women in the workforce? Why is homosexuality still wicked?

There are a few things Christ overruled, by the New Testament of His Blood. A new Covenant. But so much was left intact, things that today's christians embrace and ignore willy-nilly.... and they still claim to have hope of heaven?

Have you read the letter to Titus or the fact that Jesus came to bring comfort and freedom. Yes, Jesus is oppessed to any idea of owning a person by another person since we can't own people since we are God's possesions to begin with.

I didn't read all of it. I left halfway through the first page due to its not being worth reading.

However, on the slavery issue - Usually Slavery is based on the whole "they're from a different place, and therefor are not worthy of their freedom." sort of thing... But the Bible says not to treat people from other countries and worse than anyone else... The Bible actually uses the word "alien" to make its point, I think... So God doesn't support the act of enslaving due to differances... Which probably makes up about 80% or more of why people are enslaved (African-Americans and British, Isrealites and Egyptians, etc...). I can't think off the top of my head the other reason... but I'm sure that that's against the Bible too...
But the Bible stands up for the people who aren't in control (aka: Slaves). The Bible commands us to be kind to our servents or slaves, and treat them like family.

Now, about the Bible being sexist, I'm sure it seems that way at first glance. However, God is definately NOT sexist. Or else he wouldn't have used women in the new and old testiment as leaders. What about Esther? What about Ruth? What about all these other women who saved their countries? God could have chosen men to do the jobs! But he didn't! God also promises salvation to all people (remember the angel in Bethlehem? "I bring tidings of great joy to all people.).
Also, God placed us on Earth to be a helper to man. That's why we have authority on our heads, and that's why the old ways lasted so long. The fact that we have authority over us is because we were made for man, not the other way around. Women for men, not Men for women.
Also, I think Modern feminism sucks. I really do.
However, we have the Bible on our side. The Men are commanded to love us, and treat us kindly, just like Jesus loves the Church - his Bride, correct? Multiple times, the Bible commands men to respect, and love their wives, and women in general.

uh... yeah!
*God bless y'all.*
*Peace, Love, and Joy to y'all.*
*Merry Christmas!*

God is God. He didn't invent slavery, we did. And yes 2000 years ago the Bible was bit sexist. He made man first and from man He made woman for man. So yes He is saying that a woman should be subjective to her man. Nothing wrong with this according to God. Who are we to question the Creator of us all. There is no way we could ever fully understand God in all His glory. These atheist are just overthinkers who can't see the truth. They see man's truth and nothing but. You can argue with them all day until you are purple in the face, but they aren't going to change. Only when they see what is right will they come a runnin to the King and ask for forgiveness. It will take many plagues and still some will not confess that God is King. Unbelievable.

There are two different types of slavery in the bible. One was the Egyption way, you need work done so you enslave people and torture them to get it done. Then there is the one God was talking about. Someone owes you a debt they can't repay. So they become your slave to work it off. You can buy a slaves debt from the slave owner and then they become your slave. Hence this scripture...

"If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything."

You let the slave go in the seventh year even if the debt wasn't paid.

Why can I eat pork? Because that is a law from the old covenant. I'm no longer under the law of Moses but I am under Grace

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

Jesus Christ never justified homesexuality. It's still called a sin in the New Testament.

Romans 1:26-28
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

It is also shameful for a woman to have her hair shorn, and to speak in church. If she wishes to ask, she may ask her husband at home in private.

Every woman with a haircut is going to hell alongside homosexuals.

Indeed, if we say that the words first spoken by Paul are equal to the words first spoken by the Father and the Son, that's what you get.

As for me, I follow Jesus, who did speak of fornication (fornication is defined regardless of the sexes of the people involved), and who also encouraged women to speak up, and talk back to him, in groups (church).

Matthew 15:21-28 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. (22) And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon." (23) But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying out after us." (24) He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (25) But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." (26) And he answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." (27) She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." (28) Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.
