Theological discussion group? Physical and Life Sciences? You may want to rethink that or perhaps give yourself one of those Fs

How would you explain the fossil record without evolution? How did those fossils get where they are in the sedimentary strata (geologic column) if not by means of evolution, by what other means?

Much better phrasing . Glad to see you are not offended by a little constructive criticism. I hope someone actually answers your challenge. No takers so far. I would be interested to see if there is some way to answer it. Doubt it though. I can't think of any scientific explanation for fossils tat precludes evolution but then again I am no scientist.

I think I made my position on that quite clear earlier.

And I made mine in the OP. If you do not approve of it, as I previously suggested get a moderator involved. Otherwise, please make your posts relevant to the topic of this thread. Thank you.

So you're not here to actually discuss the OP topic, but just to take up space, waste time and generally derail the thread?

No, I said earlier why I was here and I do not think suggesting a different tone to the OP is a waste of the OPs or my time nor does it derail the thread. If one seeks cooperation from others it is best do so in a way that engenders their cooperation rather than their resentment and i would expect to actually get some answers to the challenge if the challenge is respectfully put forward.

So you are of the opinion that the way you state your OP is irrelevant to the topic of your OP? Interesting take that.

But you were the only person who viewed is as being disrespectfully put forward. As RickG said, if you think it's disrespectful, contact a moderator.

I am the only one that posted about the tone being overbearing and pompous. That does not preclude others from sharing the opinion but remaining silent. I am not one to cry to mama when someone does not communicate in the way i think they should so please can leave off with the moderator meme. My purpose was not to force anyone to do anything but to point out why others might not wish to participate in this challenge. So far I see no takers.

But you're okay with wasting time and ignoring the actual topic of the OP to go off on a random tangent about how simply asking that a scientific claim be backed up with actual science?
Skewed priorities, mate. Skewed priorities.

Your priorities seem skewed to me . You seem to care more about the opinions of YECs on evolutionary science than you do about how to phrase a request for information so as to actually receive that information. IMO a post on a discussion forum ought to at least attempt to get a discussion started but your whole purpose seems to be to stop the only one engendered by the way the OP was phrased from continuing. I tell you what, I will accomodate your wishes.

I care ('care' is the wrong word. Interested is the better one really) about the opinions of YECs on evolutionary science, because they say continually say that they can prove, scientifically, that evolutionary theory is wrong, but continually fail to do so. I want just one YEC, just one, to actually make an attempt at trying to prove evolution wrong with science.
Your opinion has been noted, but your opinion doesn't mean squat since you did not write the OP. It's offtopic and pointless.

I would really appreciate some science concerning the topic be discussed here. Once again, here is what is asked in the OP.

If someone claims that something can be disproven with science, why is it wrong to ask for them to show how with science?

I think the point of the thread is to get YEC to present their own explanation of the fossil records using "science", not simply to handwave away at some other "theory" about those fossils. Disproving evolutionary theory would not do a thing in terms of actually demonstrating the validity of YEC. That's the whole point of the request (I think).

Stands to reason. And the quotes around science and theory are a bit unnecessary (off topic, aye, but it's bugging me a bit).

Sorry. It's a bad habit I supposed. I'm simply trying to emphasize certain words as I would do in any ordinary conversation.

I know you've done it with other things that (I can't think of the right term so I'll use this instead) you don't like, so maybe just use the single quotes ('_') instead of the double ones.

Pretty much so Michael, very few threads here actually stick to science with their discussions. And the question I want to emphasize is, if the sequence of the fossil record in sedimentary is not due to evolution, what scientific principles and facts can be used to explain such a distribution? Thank you for your input.

Hello Rick.

Sounds like an interesting idea, 'Explain the fossil record' without using the theory of evolution.

For starters, may I ask you for a definition of the word 'species', so that we are both on the same page.
