• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello, I'm Elaine and i'm new to this forum. I found this thread and it is like home to me. I'm 17 and have three illnesses that will stay with me for the rest of my life but i have faith that i'll be okay. If anyone else has any of these issues, or needs a prayer or if anyone would pray for me that would be lovely. Sorry if i am writing the wrong things, just a broken up teenager looking for peace.

God Bless all of you selfless souls out there.

Elaine x

Hey All,
I saw this thread and just wanted to post some encouragment. I was diagnosed with CFS when I was I was 13. I am now 30, and I've been doing really well for almost 10 years now. Once I hit my late teens and early 20s I got a lot better, and have virtually no symptoms, so there is hope.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to share some encouragement too. I fell ill with CFS at 13, so it's been ten years now. At first I was housebound, unable to do anything except sleep, eat and watch the telly. Now, I live in my own flat, am about to start my final year at university, and have had two poems published. I am still far from 'normal' but, with faith, have accomplished much that before I couldn't have imagined achieving. As lifeguardette said, there is always hope.

Hello

I developed fibromyalgia when I was 55 and am now 62. Pain and sleep management are constant concerns. However, I have reached a point where I am fully functional. Last year I visited China for a month on my own to teach the Bible and returned this November to do the same. I will return home tomorrow.

Not everyone with fibro is nearly as fortunate as I have been, so I treasure each Thanksgiving as one way to thank God for His grace in my life.
