Adrian has set it up now so that we can empty our inventories. Whew. :p

As far as I can tell, the way to do this is go into edit avatar. When all your stuff comes up, click on it. It will appear in the box like when you put it onto your character. But now there is a new button called Sell Item. That's how you can empty your stuff out.

We also now have a limit of only 50 items allowed in the inventory at a time.

We will also begin the process of charging for armory items pretty soon so that we have things to spend our blessings on. No time estimate on that. It'll take awhile. But it's in the works.

So if we already have more than 50 items in our inventory, what happens? Is it going to start deleting things, and if so how will it decide what to delete, and how do we make sure that doesn't happen?

This is what happens if you have more than 50- the next time you go to change your avatar, it won't let you until you sell back items and get down to only 50 in your inventory. The sell back system isn't perfect. It took me a long, long time last night to get down to 50. But the huge inventories and over 50 items on one avatar were crashing browers and causing server slow-down.

If you have a huge amount of inventory, you can PM SirAdrian and I think he can wipe out the inventory for you. But you don't receive your refund that way, I don't think.

Right.

If you have a ton of items and you want them all wiped out without a refund (remember they are only 1$ each right now, so you won't get much back anyway), then PM me and I can clear them for you. After I clear them, you'll have to re-save your avatar to make it take effect.

We're also considering bumping the limit higher, but for now it'll stay at 50.

I had 550+ items in my armory and had SirAdrian wipe out all of them and then I went back, got the items I wanted to use, and was able to keep it under 50. It really does make a difference at how fast the edit page loads and it only took a few seconds when before it took a few minutes to save my LA.

Thanks Adrian! :)

Sorry it took me so long to get back!

50 items is really low considering the CF Avatars include body/hair/eyes/lips/nose etc... then clothes extras and a background a typical CF Chararter setup could be 25-30 items...

My .02

Ty

PS Sending a PM...

What would be a good but low figure? 75? 100? I know we can possibly raise it some.

It does make a difference. When I finally got all my old stuff sold back I was surprised at how fast things load and save now.

does this mean that the awesome but uberly expensive items will be back?

I believe so, yes :)

will there be limits on how many people can buy one item? (did that make sense?)

Hmmm. That's a good question. I hadn't thought of that. Does anyone know if the limit before was do to server space (or something techy like that) or was it more to keep things kind of exclusive and special on some items?

I'm requesting for SirAdrian to delete all of my items please.

Hi there. Please send Adrian a PM so he'll get to your request sooner :)

100 at the most sounds good

yayy!

it seems like it was to keep some items exclusive, which didn't always work in my favor (body parts, for example). maybe it also does save space but i really have no idea.

I don't understand why there has to be a limit, to be honest. What difference does it make if people want 500 armory items? Who cares? If they don't mind the slow-loading avatar page, then what's the problem?

People have dress-up contests and all kinds of other reasons they want to change their outfits and look often. What's the point of limiting their ability to do so?

With so many members having hundreds and hundreds of avatar items it was determined to be a cause of problems both client and server side. In other words members' browsers were freezing. Members ability to change items won't be limited only the number of items carried at one time.

Here's the bug tracker where the problem was discovered.

i second that. besides, a lot of people might not even buy the really expensive items anyway (like 7,000,000 blessings for the Holy Grail, for example).

oh wait i just got confused. nevermind  let me clarify
1. i think there should be a limit on how many items one can own, but 50 is kind of a low number.
2. if people are limited on how many items they can own, then i dont think the store should limit the items it sells (does that make sense?)
just my 2¢
