As the fisherman is raised on fish and nourished by fish, so the Pope is raised on Jesus and nourished by Jesus.
Jesus, Image of the Father made man,
Who now sitteth at God's right-hand,
Grant, we beg You, in light of Your suffering and death,
Your Vicar, Benedict XVI, to receive God's Breath:
Breathe on him today the Holy Ghost,
That He might prepare him to receive You in the Sacred Host,
That You might be united to his body and soul,
To change to whiteness his sin as black like coal,
To guard, guide, and correct him in all matters and deeds,
To give him a share of Your cross, crown, and reed,
To duly lead him from one beginning to the next
Unto perfection according to Your Holy Lex!
