on a lot of animes, I know that a lot of it is censored when comes over to US/UK.

Supposedly, Yu-Gi-Oh (Japanese version) had guns and blood etc. while the US/UK version had...nothing.

i know this happens to lots of animes

why??!! usually it completely ruins it and makes it look...not so good

Because the US/Uk don't seem to get the fact that anime ranges from small kids to adults. Just because its a cartoon they think it's meant for kids. Therefore being all paranoid as they are they start editing every little thing that they might find "bad" for the kids watching it, even though they arent really suppose to be watching it in the first place since they weren't suppose to be part of the anime's target market.
The best way to watch anime is in japanese with english subtitles. Cos you'll lose all respect for it once you hear it in that really REALLY pathetic attempt of a dub. It will turn any serious anime into a comedy.

Because there's a double-standard. If it's animated, it's not supposed to be violent or have swearing, innuendo, etc. in it, or so they think. Granted, the censorship isn't nearly as bad as it was in the 80s or 90s, but the FCC and the like don't seem to realize that the target demographic is different.

ah yes.So true.But now u can buy the uncut version of yugioh and alot of other animes too.
