Can anyone name any famous Christians in the media industry etc.?

I can think of a few (although for some, how their faith stands, I'm not quite sure)

Kirk Cameron (fairly obvious)

Ralph Winter (producer, X-Men, Hangman's Curse)

Martin Scorsese ([lapsed?] Catholic)

Kevin Smith (thanks God in each of his films' "end credits"; described "Dogma" as his psalm)

Paris Hilton; Lindsay Lohan (apparently "found God"; seen going to an LA Church)

Tom Shadyac (director Bruce/Evan Almighty)

Dean Jones (actor, couple of "Herbie" films)

Mel Gibson - Ditto (although he definitely has issues)

Daneil Baldwin - One of the Baldwins (pretty sure it was Daniel) claims to be a born-again Christian

Hal Lindsay - also has issues

Patricia Heaton - Devout something; she's ambiguous about whether or not she's Catholic or Presbyterian

If we're naming professional athletes, I can name a couple dozen.

The late Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter, were Christians raised in bible believing churches, who, especially during the years right before and during their marriage turned back to the Lord. This is reflected in the recent movie, "Walk the Line."

My favorite part ever played by Johnny Cash was an episode on "Little House on the Praries" TV series where he plays a preacher gone wrong who repents.

How are we defining "Christian" here? A lot of the people on the list obviously aren't Christians and it seems like some of you believe they are just because they made some vague comment about God or appeared in a movie that had religious overtones.

Frankly, some of them are just plain silly.

How can anyone possibly believe that Kevin Smith is a Christian when we writes, directs, and stars in movies that blaspheme God at every opportunity?

Steve McQueen wasn't a Christian. Fellow actor, James Coburn, got him into Buddhism and Taoism and he held to those beliefs to the end. The story about him sending a private jet to Billy Graham so that Graham could come and talk to him on his deathbed is just an urban legend.

Likewise, Jane Fonda. Yes, she did claim to be a Christian, but it didn't last long. Once the emotional high wore off, she went right back to her sinful lifestyle.

I'm having a very difficult time believing Jane Fonda is a Christian...I'm sorry, I just am. I'd have to hear her give her testimony personally before I believed that.

Kevin Smith described "Dogma" in an interview as a celebration of his faith and I would say that the film is fairly faithful (though I'm not Catholic). (I could question the Metatron taking Jesus' name in vain)

Also in Clerks II, it's apparent that Jay and Silent Bob became Christians while in rehab and at one point a character accurately - if somewhat sarcastically -describes the Gospel as God "sending His only begotten Son to die on the cross, to redeem mankind".

Of course I don't know Kevin personally so when I think about it, I should listen to Jesus' words, "By their fruit you shall know them."

As with other famous people, I read that Tom Hanks (and possibly Ron Howard) had been to Church, but I acknowledge that doesn't make them Christians.

The list is bogus. The majority of people on that list aren't Christians.

Gary Busey and Della Reese aren't Christians. They're both into New Age religions.

Darren Daulten is a Christian? Sorry, as much as I loved Dutch when he played here, if this guy's a Christian, I'll eat my hat.

Not only is he a notorious womanizer and fornicator, the guy was one of the biggest drunks in town. Last interview I saw with him, he was espousing all sorts of New Age garbage and claiming that he talks to lizards.

I did get a kick out of seeing Whitney "Crack is Whack" Houston's name on the list. How can anyone who's ever seen one of her drug fueled, profanity laced tirades ever doubt that she's a Christian? I mean, it's so obvious!

It lists Donnie and Marie Osmond as Christians. They're not. They're Mormons.

Further on down the list, they tell you that Unitarians are Christians. Unitarians aren't Christians and if these folks are going to tell you that they are, then they have no credibility.

Like I said, I truly think that people just throw out celebrity names at random and say, "Oh, yeah, they're Christians" without any sort of evidence for it.
